^ this always happens whenever anything new which's downloads related crops up

I suspect because of her recent Arena Tour clips , things have been crashed over & over & over again

so next time her future material's up for download , get ready for such incidents cos it will be a common sight D:

I doubt that Arena tour made the whole thing or a possible upcoming BALLAD previews here.

for me it's working fine until america land gets bored and attacks AHS.
(see what I did there)

it's almost 1 pm here and it's working oh so smoothly.
AHS is usually taking a nap when it's 8 - 11 pm here.

the ahs is blah blah blah should srsly be changed to some random fun stuff,
like the out saving the world.

The easiest solution to all of this is to just upgrade the server, haha.

I can vouch for TH's suggestion. I've upgraded & moved servers, upgraded hosting plans....

Trust me, it's not hard. Unless your host is very very mean and user-unfriendly. Which may be the case for AHS, I don't know.

a. delete about half of the inactive users (if there are any) [leechers, people who haven't logged in in a few months-half a year, people that rarely ever post, etc.]
b. delete about half the site's archives, [I'm sure no one is going to miss having 100+s of threads deleted that haven't been visited since 2002 and waste space at the back of the site. ]
Well, maybe some of those users will come back.
No way, I'd miss those threads! Don't you think it's fascinating to look back and see threads as news was just coming out? Like, "NEW ALBUM 'RAINBOW' JUST ANNOUNCED!", it's a part of Ayu history.

^ I agree! Don't delete the threads!! D:

And yeah, upgrading the server is pretty simple... The only problem is any money issues. :\ I dunno how expensive it is to run this site.

Well, not really. And actually, most of the important forums here are inaccessible to guests anyhow. Ayu Downloads, for example. Yet somehow we just get crashed when something new of Ayu's opens up to download.

I think the problem rests with those members who only sign up and come here to get downloads. I think a better solution to the mass-leeching, mass-downloading problem could be like.... not only do you have to be a member to access the downloads forum, but.... you have to have a certain number of posts in the other forums to access it? Kinda like restrictions on new members for making posts and threads. I dunno.

It's not so much selfish as are the people who just come here for downloads, and post a thanks once or twice.

Posting restricting is one of the worst things to do in a forum. You're forcing people who don't want to be a part of community to do so and they don't want to be, they don't. I agree with Delirium when she said the "what I hate most about AHS members" thread was if someone has nothing to contribute, i.e. an opinion, info, theroies, they shouldn't. It makes people think they have to comment on every topic.

^ I agree with this ~ There's a reason they don't post ... and I think we should still allow members to have the choice if to post or not. AHS crashing is seriously annoying, but it's not like it lasts that long.

-- With the comment about having to get invited, I think that's unfair ._. I would of never found this forum because the only friends I have on AHS are the ones I've made after I've joined...and I can bet many other amazing members wouldn't of found AHS either if it was invite-only.

Even if that would get us rid of the AHS unavailableness, I still wouldn't agree with that. Being strict dosen't help at all, forums that are too strict make alot of users (especially newbies) go away ^^ (example: I gave up on a forum because they forbid any post, but any post that is under 2 rows) and that would make AHS kinda unfriendly ^^;

+ with that rule would probably increase the spam just because they want to reach the download sections XD (leading to more AHS unavailableness)

Of course it is lol, if this forum was "invite only" would you be here? Would I be here? Chances are, we wouldn't. We'd need to know someone inside to become part of the community, and that's unacceptable. It pushes away fans from a community where it may be there only opportunity to talk and discuss about J-Pop etc.
