And I'm not surprised NEVER ENOUGH will be a ballad but hopefully it will be a good 1 & it's so cool it will be out on the same date as Kuu's debut anniversary

Likewise the image of Kuu used on the tote bag(s) is tastefully done

Don't know why but the cover art appeals to me. I like the black and white picture and then the bright colours in contrast .
Can't wait to hear how NEVER ENOUGH will sounds like.

And i'm listening to Black Cherry right now. Damn why did I nearly forgot how great this album is? I definitely need to buy it anytime soon

That cover art is really... not flattering. But I'm excited NEVER ENOUGH is going to be a ballad! It's been a while since I last enjoyed one of Kumi's ballads, so let's hope this one is going to be beautiful.

From 11/05 onwards they're going to sell standing tickets with a block number (which are just 400 Yen cheaper than the premium ones, hm).

Does Kuu plan to never release an actual single again? I know these are all counted as official releases, but they're not Oricon releases. I'm just curious if HOTEL was the last of an era.

Nobody can tell you that, but for now you shouldn't expect it.

Avex is doing that for a lot of their artists.
It's their way of maximizing profit.
For that it also doesn't matter, how popular an artist is.
E.g. Nissy from AAA is realasing absolutely ALL of his solo releases mu-mo only (since 2014). And he's quite popular. The only other way to getting it is digital download.

The downside is, we will never know the sales.
Avex does. Maybe they're going to publish those at some point

Hm, I actually don't know.
Her official website says, it's connected to the mu-mo ID you're using (the FC one is a mu-mo ID).
So you should be fine, I guess.

I half wonder if a lot of this shift in avex is because Oricon is far behind the times in terms of sales channels for music. They did just add the Digital Albums chart, but the fact that all sales aren't tallied into the Top 100 makes Oricon look like a really poor indicator of popularity or success for a release.

It could also be that Koda, like Ayu, just isn't a big seller in the physical space anymore outside of her albums. I'm glad Kuu landed #1 and #2 for W FACE, but sad that we don't get the thrill of seeing her drop new singles, tracking her numbers, and enjoying the packaging and extras all that much anymore.

Oh well. I have to keep in mind that Ayu dropped off of singles in 2010. Apart from Ftl/Mgr, Terminal, and Z/Lm/W, Ayu has pretty much abandoned the physical single space. Seeing HOTEL as the last physical release from 3.5 years ago, it's just highly unlikely Kuu is still in the physical single space as well. Which is fine, but I just remember Kuu as the queen of single releases. I'd love to see her do another 12 single releases in a row kind of thing. lol Girl could push to 100 while she still looks like she just turned 24.
