Sarah McLachlan: Angel (gets me everytime...)
Sarah McLachlan: Undertow

Evanescence: missing
even though I'm the sacrifice
you won't try for me, no no
though I'd die to know you loved me
I'm all alone
isn't something missing?
isn't someone missing me?

and Solitude:
you're secret admirer
who could it be?

Chihiro Onitsuka - Infection

Nine Inch Nails - Hurt (arguably the saddest song ever written)
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
Arcade Fire - Ocean of Noise
In an ocean of noise
I first heard your voice
Now who here among us
Still believes in choice?
Not I

The Arcade Fire - Une Anee Sans Lumiere
...okay, so basically any Arcade Fire song. They all have a vice grip on my tender heart.
Whoooaaa did not expect to see a post of mine from 5 years ago

Anyway, now I'd say (in addition to Arcade Fire ):

Shiina Ringo - Shuukyou
- a brilliant song... it starts out mysterious, then makes your heart swell and at the end leaves you deflated, pondering, thoughtful. It holds my rapt interest for every second.

Shiina Ringo - Tsumi to Batsu
- a powerful blues ballad. You can feel her pain so deeply. Especially fun to belt out when I'm feeling down.

Cocco - Hi no terinagara ame no furu
- makes me feel hopeful and grateful somehow. lovely

Agreed ^^ I'm a huge Coldplay fan, lol.

Also on my list...well, emotional songs for me are so depressing, haha. But yet, they're good songs (for me anyway~)

Zombie - The Cranberries
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
You Could Be Happy - Snow Patrol

I'd probably be able to drum up more names, but my iTunes has been erased (again ) and usually I scroll through to awaken my memory a bit.

Omg Coldplay are amazing. Especially the X&Y album, I love that one so much.

And actually there's one song with Snow Patrol I'm also very fond of: Make this go on forever.
