I've decided to give Namie a shot after eternity of just random songs. I downloaded last year's live style but i couldn't spend more than 15 minutes watching and i was thinking why's that. She sings great, dances great, show seems really well prepared. Few things that i realised made me not watch it for longer were: lack of band. Ayu's stage feels so much more alive with instruments, choruses. Another thing was lack of any particular stronger theme to sections of show. Mostly she is just there singing and performing fancy choreography. Sometimes there is an element like heart but it doesn't matter much. I think those 2 elements made me not be able to watch the whole thing in one shot. Oh also i had impression the show was overedited in terms of sound but i don't have comparison with other lives of hers.
I really enjoy Namie! She seems to be a really positive person and a great talent and i hope she will stay in the industry for a long time.

I've been a fan of her since around 2004 but I've never watched one of her concerts in full. Her performances never interest me long enough. Although when she appeared on TV still, I used to love watching. I wonder why haha. Her Girl Talk performances were all really fun for me.

It's not that her concerts are bad by any means, but just...I lose interest.

The first time I heard/saw Namie was a live TV performance of "Hello" and that was it. Utada had to make some room.

I wish she'd deflate her ego and go back to television.

I really like _genic, but the main problem that I have with is that it already feels like...like I'm "over" it, I remember I listened FEEL the whole summer it came out and afterwards still, listened it today and it still felt fresher to me, _genic already feels "older".

On the contrary, I find myself listening to _genic way more than feel. The songs don't really get boring for me. Like Photogenic, Stranger and Fashionista get me so pumped up in the mornings and Birthday and Golden Touch make me feel happy whenever I'm down haha.

Idk feel just seemed like such a stepping stone where she took a leap of faith did something really different from her counterparts at the time made it look da*n good and succeeded despite a couple of bumps it was like a celebration of being at the top of her game and sticking it to Japan in her mid 30's and I loved it.

Yeah, no I do agree with you. FEEL was nice and out of the box and does beat _genic overall. _genic is just Namie attempting to stay on the same level as FEEL because she knew it did so well. Seems like she failed judging from everyone's reaction on the forum haha ;;. I know I just personally like _genic better though, but not by a large margin. There's only one song I skip (Every Woman), meanwhile I skip the Poison-la la la-supernatural-let me love you combo in feel lol.

Thanks for the interview. Great to hear that namie insisted in not including tsuki and brighter day singles. Wise choice for a cohesive theme. Imagine the generic jpop brighter day near those edm/ retro/ dance stuff on genic. Out of place like pray on colours.
