Except the chorus the lyrics of the song are pretty sad, showing insecurity.
Very relatable for me at least. Also love the fact she called it RUN, simply considering that when people get older their perception of time is faster compared to being teens and twens. Here they are: Quote:

I still consider the lyrics to be what she tells herself at her lowest, which matches the MV for me. You can't stop the bad days happening but all you can do is keep going...
I love how she continues to address these moments in her music and link together her work like this. Thank you for sharing the lyrics |

I agree with your positive view of the PV, but kaled's opinion is not so far-fetched I guess, cause if you loose to the sadness Kuu describes here and not getting back hope...
We know Kuu herself fought with a depressive phase when she went through her scandal and the time after.

I thought about that because the bath scene happens as soon as the full moon is shown. I believe it is a good nod to a very dark moment for her, and the lyrics are quite sad besides the chorus.
Out of Matthew Tishler's ballads for Kumi, this is the best one for sure (the others being NO ME WITHOUT YOU and NEVER ENOUGH).

This mjust be one of her most beautiful PVs ever. So simple yet so well made!
But... I'm finding so difficult to enjoy her new songs with her high pitched screams.

I’m aligned with all the positive comments about RUN.
Both song and video are quite fresh! I love the verses. The PV has a quite deep message. I can’t really find a past PV with an as much personal message. I can see it being the closure of her next tour.

So DK Choo is on the credits for RUN? He is a Korean producer (involved in quite a few bops), which makes me think that the song demo was with SM first but somehow ended up on Kumi's catalogue. The song might even be older than 2018 then (which is okay btw, this happens a lot in music industry).
Also so happy to see Kenji working with Kumi as a new constant in her works, especially since she composed for... with him. Overall this seems to be her strongest release since WOML so far, this is totally making up for how disappointed I was with MY NAME IS (the album) lol |

It doesn't seem like we'll be getting much TV promotion for this release. Just FNS and its a performance of You. Sad that she didn't do much on TV for her 15th or 20th anniversary. Oh well. At least the EPs sound great.

She may perform on Music Fair, the only show she usually goes. We still don't know the guests for next week's episode. We will know tomorrow.
She does have some sort of promotion for TV, but for the 20th anniversary, not this release. Tomorrow the Secret Live will be broadcast on asahi Ch1 with commentary, hope someone records. I'm really hopping they are adding the songs from both mini-albums on MNI... Tour, it might not happen at all tho.

But it didn't sound as it was 100% sure yet, just that she's touring if it's not prevented by Covid.

She might perform on that day , hopefully Next week's MUSIC FAIR is an entire episode dedicating to Fukuyama Masaharu with this year being his 30th anniversary Maybe the episode after that Kuu will be featured on ? There're also others like Buzz Rhythm 02 , Love music , NHK The Covers , NHK SONGS & Shibuya no Oto but all these shows are usually pre taped days if not weeks in advance If not then it's the live broadcast of CDTV Live! Live! , the standard MUSIC STATION & Utacon Was hoping Kuu might appear on 11th Dec's MUSIC STATION 2 hours special episode but doesn't seem to be the case :s === Latest FLASH magazine featured an interview they did with Kuu in line with her 20th anniversary , alongside a new photoshoot https://tieba.baidu.com/p/7117705192 Quote:

Kuu did shoot something yesterday:
But a "long-distance shooting and collecting data" probably means another talkshow/variety or newspaper interview. Though who knows.

^Thank you for the scans! I miss seeing Kuu in magazine shoots. I wish she would release more photobooks like Brazil and Maroc.
I totally agree with everyone's sentiment on RUN. It's one of her most beautiful ballads and MVs for a long time (and I think her MVs in recent years have been really good, despite there always being at least 1 person in the Youtube comments saying "where's the budget tho"). I agree with Corvina in that if RUN was able to get enough promotion it could be a great hit, I feel the same for Killer MonsteR as well cause the bridge in that song is <3. Interesting to know that the same composer for RUN also did NO ME WITHOUT YOU and NEVER ENOUGH, cause those are another two of my favorite ballads from Kuu (that both have meaning for her in terms of her career). I hope she continues to work with him in the future!
