I wonder how many people still think that the fan made version that's been floating around for years is official.

Why can't she re-record the old songs for this release?

She enjoys doing NOTHING new for her music career anymore.....?

You guys gotta look in perspective; she's been involved with music for a LONG time. She's using this break to recollect herself. Let her take her time lol

On a way, Hikki is much more the Britney Spears of Japan than Ayu... She have been working non-stop and being on the media since she was a child!

People always say she is lazy when compared to other jpop divas, but we can't forget she released 8 different studio albums during a 12 years time spam, and she composed or co-composed (almost) every track from all of those albums and produced herself half of them... There are succesful musicians decades into their careers that don't write their own stuff and released much less music than her.

Let the girl take her break and live her life, she deserves it!

And just to be fun, the song that she herself said represents some conflicts she has with her popstar career:

I've always looked at the lyrics to Hotel Lobby through the perspective of a prostitute.

But lyrics are meant to be interpreted. I like the one discussing her popstar life that Andrenkoi posted about.

Yeah the fact that she composes and arranges her music is mind blowing enough. But it goes to show why her unique music can sound so fully packaged. It's literally a vision born from her mind, start to finish. That's overwhelming to think about.

So do you guys think she hates Ayu? She seemed annoyed when that caller bought Ayu up when she doing US radio for Exodus.

I don't think she hates Ayu at all, they barely know each other.

But it must be the most annoying thing ever having that name being brought again and again during the interviews... Japan has a huge music landscape and western listeners tend to act like only those 2 exist.

She talked about Ayu once on her blog:
Quote:
Today is M-ste day!
Maybe it was because I co-starred with Hamasaki Ayumi san, but last time the staff around us (especially the TV-show staff!) were giving off some strange air of strained tension, which made Hamasaki san and me laugh together; I wonder if things will get back to normal today~?

I'm going now!
(=^o^=)/

It's not just a Western thing..in the Japanese press it was the same as the Christina vs. Britney thing. Didn't help that Avex and EMI played up to it with Distance and A BEST. Plus let's face it..they might as well be the only 2 that exist because those other girls were basic as fuck. Utada and Ayu made them irrelevant just by existing. --

I agree they both make most of the other girls irrelevant just by existing :x And there isn't much popstars out there with a body of work as strong as theirs...

But it still must be annoying having people acting like they live together or something just because they both are japanese singers... One of the people talking about Ayu during her interviews actually said it would be fun if she brought Ayu together to the USA or something... WTF? xD

Considering this snippet of the official version, I also prefer the fanmade version. The only things that upsets me a bit is that it doesn't contain substantial portions of Hikki's vocals.

So, some time ago, I did this re-remix of the Sonic Sprout version. Just added more vocals from Hikki - http://ahtkachanremixes.tumblr.com/p...tkachans-vocal

I pre-ordered the crazy shit version of First Love which is US$ 145, and I went with pretty cheap S&H but I just got an email saying that because of the weight of this shit I have to upgrade to "SAL ParcelPost" which costs $65, so my whole order is over $200 for one fucking item! This is going to be my birthday and Christmas present to myself for the next 5 years while I go cry in a corner realizing that I might have an obsession because I allowed myself to spend this much on an item. /bye yall *sobs~

Well it should sell a couple of thousands, but apperantely they count it seperately off First Love.

^That's weird I wonder why. Although it's not like it matters, First Love is the highest selling album in Japanese history, it's not like they need to add to those numbers to defend it's title or anything.
