OMG! THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN #1 N #2 IS SO DAMN CLOSE BUT AYU PREVAILED N HEAVEN IS #1 ON THE ORICON WEEKLIES!!! YAY!!!

the early results for this weeks' ORICON ranking is as follows:

#1: hamasaki ayumi "HEAVEN" approx sales: 168,540
#2: Kanjani 8: "好きやねん、大阪。／桜援歌（Oh！ENKA）／無限大" approx sales: 163,155
#3: Gorie with Jasmann & Joann "Pecori Night" approx sales: 117,730

wow this was very tough week, difference between #1 n #2 is only 5,385!
IM SO PROUD OF AYU!!! neways...169K not bad, its rite inbtwn "STEP you/is this LOVE?" n "fairyland" 1st week sales. ("STEP you" was 164K while "fairyland" was 172K) i hope this single can stay on the charts for as long or longer than STEP you...

in other news, since ayu's 37th single, "HEAVEN" went to #1, marking her 24th #1 single

she is #3 overall--ayu is 1 single behind tieing for #2 n 11 singles behind tieing fr #1
she is #2 for females--1 single behind tieing for #1

also, ever since the single, "Trust" (1998/08/17) which went to #9, all her singles have reached the TOP 10 on ORICON. with HEAVEN she has 35 singles that have reached the TOP 10 n is #1 for females in that category

another note: she has now 12 consecutive #1 singles since "Free & Easy" (2002/04)

I'm glad she beats the crap out of Kanjani 8 even with 6 000 copies Congrats Ayu, this will definately sell better than "fairyland". Especially because of SHINOBI!

Man that was SO close. Avex marketing clearly overlooked the threat of Kanjani 8. =/

On a personal level 170,000 seems kinda ordinary...I thought this one was going to get 200,000 in the first week for sure.

This is about what I expected, maybe even a little more than I expected. I think that this single will have better 2nd and 3rd weeks though than her previous singles. I don't think this one will drop off in sales that dramatically since the movie has just now been released.

Yeh let's hope it keeps up in the second week before 'Be My Last' comes out.

First yeah for HEAVEN getting no. 1

For the sales figures... I think HEAVEN's sales would have been higher IF the cds had not been shipped into the theatres in the first place. (Again if this news is true... not much cd at cd stores...). I kinda expect it will have the longer run then fairyland or even STEP you/is this LOVE?. Hopefully it will have at least 80K cds sold next week. If it's around 60K then I will say it will be the same as fairyland..
