The oricon sales are higher than the Soundscan sales, isn't it? and most people do think the album is released on 1.1.06.

Beat the oricon prediction by 100k though...

edit: I just looked at Soundscan sights, and they are way lower than the oricon ones. For example, Koda Kumi's best and Otsuka Ai's LOVE COOK. Plus it's from December 27-January 1st, so if it can actually sale this much before the sale date, then it would sale more after the sale date.

Yup, I start the album at track 2, lol.

Jeez, I'm thinking that those sales are pretty high for the first week.

Come on, not everybody buys albums in Japan anymore.. they're turning to other programs for music.

I hope this isn't the official number.

Anyway, no that's not a good first-week sale for Ayu. That's lower than Ai Otsuka, Koda Kumi and Boa last albums, so don't blame music programs or iPod [WTF?! Why would iPod would make albums sell less?]

to me that's pretty low compared to what people were expecting from this single.
and let's not forget that HEAVEN was on a movie soundtrack, what brings a lot of popularity.

yeah true you do have a point there. It's a pity since HEAVEN was such a beautiful ballad.

If so, i completely agree.
Though - don't think it's THAT bad of a song.

AND REMEMBER - she just released this after christmas.
People spent all their money.
Wait a month - it'll go up.

look at when she was performingi this song at the Music Station super live .. The viewers were not excited at all .. she should perform new songs from her album like rainy day / (miss)understood or criminal
100% agree with you for the B&D performance, where people looked insipid and seemed like they were just waiting for her to stop... and clapping because others were.... And she should totally perform new songs from her album.... that's all we hope for. =)

don't worry guys, it'll go up and besides think of all her international sales, how many people on this forum bought the cd? how many sales can we add to the other cds for international sales?

official numbers are never that accurate anyway...

Those figures seem too low~ I'll wait for Oricon's figures. I'm hoping for at least 500,000.

Remember the sales are only between december 26-january first, so it sold a lot for only 5-6 days.

And it was before the official due date.

i disagree, since ppl already knew that the album was coming on 1/1 wouldnt they save sum $ for the purchase of the album? its not like it came unexpectedly n no1 has the $ to buy it.

the oricon prediction wasnt a prediction of the sales #. it was a rating of how well the album will do.

i think that statement is just exagerrated. ppl r still buying albums, look how many 1,000,000+ albums there were last year (10). on a yr-to-yr basis, cd sales in japan have increased from 2004->2005. also, more albums were bought in 2005 than in 2003.

I really doubt the story more albums were bought in 2005 than in 2003. I read an article from Yomiuri newspaper (the biggest in Japan, I guess) from this year saying how CD sales are dropping every year. They didn't mentioned anything about sales being better than 2003...

I agree. I used to think that Ayu could be on the top for another 5 years. But the fact doesn't go this way. It's so sad to see that Ayu is going down now. She's still popular, but not as popular as we expect. She needs a rest, or she needs a hit song. Common songs are another problem she has.

I hope the sales will be better. I hope (miss)understood can break 1 million somehow.

Compare with her past album, the sales is bad.
Compare with other Singers albums today in Japan, the sales is good.
