Wow! No wonder Avex Trax will topped the chart!! Congratz to all music labels who also topped!

But it's sad that Market is declining..
But I'm glad that I help Japanese music industry even though for just a single purchase...

Interesting article, evidently physical sales will keep falling, not only in Japan, but worldwide

Still, Ayu sold like 2 million albums in 2008, pretty good

Thanks for article but I guess it'll be difficult to have high physical sales since people are more into downloading them from online stores..

Everythings going down in this economy. Just saw on the news about how much profit loss Disney and Panasonic had this year and proposed job cuts/factory shutdowns. Shocking

Nice to know that avex artists are still doing relatively well though.

I was reading an article how the new age is going to be USB which replaces CDs
and the special design comes with all USB key. Plus the DVD is going to be obsoletes soon and bluray is taking over this year...as bluray players are not that expensive anymore and everyone can afford one.

Shouldn't be a surprise considering how Exile pawned everyone in the earnings department this year but ayu has been a steady source. Avex is fortunate to have the Big 3 this year. Hope their sales will stay consistent.

An independent label outside the ''big four'' is doing better?

By the looks of it yes haha. avex is one of the largest independent record labels in the world. It's probably on par with the Sony, Universal, EMI, and Warner in Japan.
