Ayu Traditions?

Do you have any ayu traditions?

For example, I always, and only listen to “Close to you” on Christmas Eve. When I’ve finished my festivities with family, I go outside, amidst the snow, and listen to Ayu’s “Close to you”, while marveling at the world around me. Lately it’s taking a step back, and looking at the Christmas decor inside my house, from afar, through the window of my home. I look at the tree in my living room, the lights in my kitchen, etc. This is a really special moment for me, especially considering initially, “Close to you” was never a favorite of mine. But with time, I grew to discover its moment.

Other traditions include not adding”Carols” to my rotation until just before the first snowfall. Not adding “Days” to my rotation until the first beautiful snowfall in the daytime. Not adding “momentum” until the first bitter snowfall. And not adding “No way to say” until the first intense, yet beautiful and luxurious snowfall in the evening.

For “Carols”, “momentum” and “Days”, once I break the seal, and the moment happens, I continue to listen to them throughout the season, but for “Close to you”, I only listen to it once, during the afformentioned moment. This keeps my anticipation, and appreciation for these tracks, and moments, at an ultimate high.

Same. I also like to listen to Carols almost only in winter when it's snowing.

But for the past few years our tradition has been to download the new CDL concert before midnight on NYE (9 hour difference between my country and Japan) and then check at what time is midnight and play it so that synches with our own Countdown, I usually manage to hit it right with maybe 4-10 second difference but people here start fireworks around 23:56 ish so plenty is going on and the difference isn't that noticable.

I think Listening to July 1st every July 1st is a must! ahah

Otherwise, once a teay with a friend, we watch a countdown live at home with dollar store llight sticks ahah. It is rarily at new year though as we are always busy on the 31st.

Close to you - December 24/25 (its so odd too because I know a lot of people that like this during winter and yet it was not on her winter album lolol)

December 1 - Winter Album and I also listen to it through the winter holidays too.

A Summer Best I like to listen to over the summer time lol

Really and now that im thinking about it during the new year I also restart her disco from her first album to latest... maybe it has something to do with the nostalgia of better times and winter I always have bad seasonal depression.
