Anna is not much different from OLIVIA, right? I think they're about the same... sales and popularity wise. And OLIVIA is quite awesome too. Oh well.

Anna was a model (she started when she was 14) before she jumped into singing & acting even though now she still actively models .

I think it's because of the fact that Anna's mixed + her music's kinda American influenced ; not the typical type of music you can find in Japanese that's why .

OLIVIA's great too but the problem's OLIVIA hasn't release anything since Wish ie. she's not as active as how Anna put out her music

Sometimes I get the feeling that, most of the time, it's all very random in Japan. Like... there are great artists who sell like crazy, sucky artists who sell like crazy; great artists who sell like crap, and sucky artists who sell like crap. I think it depends on marketing/promotion and luck more than anything else... Anna must've been unlucky.

About the music style thing, I'm not sure that's what it is in her case... dunno, but IMHO (and my opinion isn't always reliable xD) Amuro Namie's PLAY album was extremely americanized, but it sold 500k+~
About the "mixed" thing, I really don't know. I don't understand japanese society very much, so I have no idea of how they really feel about people from other countries, or people who are mixed. I can only think of Leah Dizon, who has no japanese blood at all as far as I know... but she doesn't sell that much better/worse than Anna/OLIVIA (who's also mixed! xD), I think *isn't sure*
Then there's Yuna Ito, she's half korean, and sells quite well... but BoA is fully korean and sells even better, so... I don't even know what's my point anymore

About OLIVIA, yeah, she's unnactive now... but back when she was active, her NANA and post-NANA stuff sold about the sameas Anna's.

I wish OLIVIA would release more as well! I'm glad Anna releases more frequently - I think her voice suits the rock genre very well.

I just seen the ~strip me ?~ edition of the rose PV , the only difference about it between the normal 1's that it's just Anna performing to the crowd from the start to the end .

I'm listening to her Taste My Beat EP now

& responding to apple-pi's post , I think the music industry in Japan is quite fickle minded & it's no different from other countries too & I think it depends on luck whether if you're well received or not be it image/music & other issues

It'll probably be uploaded on JPOPSUKI, and then if someone's willing to do it, they'll upload to some non-torrent server and post it here at AHS (or somewhere else XD)
Not sure I'll download it though, cause they're always so big. I don't like waiting for forever for something I'll only watch once XD
