Um...I just heard the album and I think I'm traumatized. I think I have to hear it again before I say that I totally hate it (just to be fair)...

^ I was kinda meh about Tsuki no Yoru, btw. Not bad, but I don't think I'd ever listen to it again.

I was expecting Karma to be absolute sh-crap, but I like it a lot better than Kyuutai. Like, that album is just so forgettable and mediocre to me. I Am Computer is my favourite for sure.

堕落 is horrendous D: Zero Shiki is boring, Chemical Parade Blue Day's pretty good, I like A. quite a bit, Polaris is pretty good too, Lion's good until the crappy chorus and the rest are kinda boring. I guess it coulda been worse, though.

Really? I love Tsuki no Yoru. I spent 30 bucks on it! Its so pleasent and a million times than Isora, their venture into Kpop, lol.
I really have to relisten to it then I can really put a name to what I liked and didn't like. Apparently Tatsurou wrote alot of the tracks for this album, that maybe why its so abysmal... but I think no matter how many times I listen to it, Kyuutai will always be superior.

Ok here is my opinion, and after about 4 listens, the album is actually not that bad, even fun.
This is what I posted at Itai tegami, where most people seem to be very upset about the album;

I love Zeroshiki, Chemical Parade Blue Day, Polaris and I Am Computer/ Lion could have been an amazing song up to chorus.
Daraku was awful, other than Tatsurou's beautiful crooning in the middle of the song, all it did was make me pick on the English pronounciation and wonder how Shiina Ringo could have done the song better. I will give Tatsurou credit for writing lyrics that have depth and actually make sense.
Hane was a step up from tsubasa and shiva but I really dislike these type of songs from MUCC. I don't know why they like to end alot of their albums with these kind of songs.
The single tracks are still nothing special and I have to say that I can't tell the difference between the Karma versions and the original versions.

Overall, the album's theme is very clear, and considerig the theme I can kind of understand the choice of musical style. Sometimes, the songs made me think of Ayu (Hane reminded me of virgin Road and A of As if... not a bad thing, but an interesting association)
I love of MUCC's intense rock and metal flavoured songs, but I also love alot of their softer tracks and more than anything, I love their versatlity and I think this album still retains a bit of that MUCC touch in alot of songs like Zeroshiki, Polaris and Lion (minus the chorus, lol). I do wish they'd drop the vocoders and synthesizers but this is an album without awesome guitars or bass but its still enjoyable in its own way and tons of fun to sing along to most of the songs.

I just started getting back into MUCC since they've been my favorite band and I miss their music. I wish they would tour here T.T

I need to check in with their newer music. I was watching naruto and one of the endings was a MUCC song and I freaked out. I'm so behind the times.

@adantatu: Rojiura boku to kimi e will probably always be one of my favorites. I'm honestly also a fan of their Kyuutai album stuff though I'm not that sure that other fans would agree on its quality. All of that is old though. They've changed through time. I liked Mother, the one used in the naruto ending which was probably released around the time of Nirvana.

MUCC will always be one of my absolute favourite bands! They are just awesome! One reason why I love them so much is that they manage to create new sounds for mostly every new album but without giving up on that typical MUCC style.

I think it's a good idea not only to listen to some singles but instead to their albums. If you love NIRVANA then try their newest album Shangri-la. I love that one, it's a really great album! Definetely one of the best albums of 2012.
In any case I would recommend not only to listen to one or two albums of them, 'cos they are really diverese!

So, has someone already listened to their new album? What do you think?

Honestly, for me this band just can do no wrong. They are so fucking damn amazing! I mean, I'm VERY critical when it comes to my faves, but somehow I never disliked something MUCC did.

I just downloaded it honestly but haven't heard it yet. I didnt like any of the a-sides this era, but I loved WaTer on the World's end single. I'm a little scared because I read that the album was non thematic and unfocused. I guess I will find out soon...

Although I don't think it's as good as Shangri-la (but this one was perfect, so it's almost impossible that the next one is also as good), I like it a lot and I don't think THE END OF THE WORLD is unfocused. To be honest I feel the complete opposite about it. It's just more "back to the roots" for a MUCC album and with way less electronic elements. So ENDER ENDER is definetly a stand out track. You also didn't liked this single? Maybe you will like the album version of the song more (I prefer the single version).

And atm I'm crying that I forgot to put the album on my mp3-player and can't listen to it on my way home. y____y lol

Ok so I heard it, and I think its a step up from Shangri La because Shangri La had too many intolerable tracks and here only track I skip is Halo. I don't know if I love any song on The End as much as I love Arcadia or GG, but There are alot of good songs on this album. JAPANESE would've been perfect without the "haro I am Japanese" and 369 miroku would've been perfect without the stupid "woho". When will they stop with the English for god's sake?!?!?

It seems like the theme of this album, other than the word "end", is a musical style reminiscent of classical rock. Anyhow, I'm happy that it's not an album full of crap and I can't wait to buy it!

Listened to the album almost a whole day.
And I think it is solid, I really like it!
It does have a pretty strong theme and I like the clear rock style the songs have. (Actually it reminds me of the last Maximum the Hormone album)
Definitely a step up again!

I never got where all this criticism for MUCC's releases after "Kuchiki no Tou"/"Gokusai" was coming from. I for one am glad that they changed their style. I mean, 5 studio albums (or seven, when people liked them till "Gokusai") in the same depressing style were great, I love all of them. But at some point it would have been boring and repetitive.
For me they somehow changed the direction their music always had but without losing this special "MUCC Style" I'm so in love with.

Anyway, I can't stop listening to the new album and "THE END OF THE WORLD" (the song) is a true masterpiece I think and it reminds me a lot of the "Kuchiki no Tou" MUCC.

I got into MUCC before Hoyukou came out and the change to a more poppy less aggressive style both pleased and upset me. I liked how versatile they were and are, but I feel like alot of the songs they release now could be released by any band, that is the songs were become more generic. Along with the Engrish and the autosynth. I simply want them to go back to their unique MUCC sound, what ever it was. But I am happy with the new album. How do you see it resembling Kuchiki no tou?

As long as Tatsurou's voice makes me melt and I love what music they have, I don't really mind styles.
