but what happens if there's two or more people sharing the same computer, like sisters or brothers, and both register? won't it be kind of unfair to the other person?

What's the point of being banned if you can still post?

He certainly hasn't posted since he's been banned but he posted a lot before that.

That's the downside.
If someone bans and IP address, that computer can no longer access AHS.
Even with a new user name. The IP address follows.
I'm not sure, someone might have to clarify, but i think if you re-sign up as a different name on a DIFFERENT computer with a DIFFERENT IP address, you can get in.
Lucky for me, if i ever get banned i'll just act like a new member and use one of my other dozens of computers to sign up
I'm good though, so that will probably never happen.

That's probably not something that you want to spread around. If you were banned, you would come back under a different username? Isn't that against the rules?

From the first page of this very thread -

It's been well over a year since this happened. It was discussed then. It's done.

Mmm. No it's perfectly fine, thats not against the rules
Of course it's against the rules, but if someone wanted to start over nice, and as a new nicer person, then they can do that. mm.. I don't think i would though.. might feel guilty O__________o

Well, its better if the person comes back with a new username and a new attitude than going to somewhere else.

If the person has a bad enough attitude that it's lead to them being banned, then chances are very high that they're not going to change their behavior. We issue many warnings an an attempt to do that without banning someone. ANYONE who is banned and comes back, regardless if they have behaved badly with a new username or not, WILL have that new username banned.

Oh yeah I forgot, if they wouldnt change with warnings, they'll never change. And you made a typo in your post with the word "behaved" in your third sentence.

I dunno what that attitude is about, but, yeah, that's been the experience with every single person we've banned. Try warning people nearly every day for a year and talking to people for hours (day after day) and then watch them do the exact same thing you talked about changing the day before. People can change all they want once they're banned, in fact I hope they do, but they won't be doing it here. Permanent banning is meant to be permanent, hence the name.
