love this album...my personal opinion is that this album's much better than the previous one...cauz the album songs this time are great...

I don't agree with you at all. It's not like if Namie didn't released her best album she would sell a lot of her next album, that's not it, she sold much less after her best album because of the 1 year hiatus.

Mai Kuraki was already selling poorly when her best album was released, so she wasn't a multi-million seller when Wish You Best come out. As everybody pointed out, her sales were in decline since her first single.

Is very usual to the record company release the best album when the artist popularity is declining. Like Tomomo Kahala, her first album sold over 2 million, her second 1 million and her third barely sold 50k. Then they released her compilation and it sold over 600k.

So no, I don't think 2 million people didn't bought 'I Am...' and 'Rainbow' if there wasn't A BEST because the tracks aren't even the same! It makes no sense at all, IMO.

Actually one of the few remix albums to hit #1 was ayu-ro-mix 2 :x

and the january releases are not that heavy competition to ayu ~

Pretty much.. all the big stars have already done their albums. Unless Utada or some big superstar decides to release a brand new album now.. it's highly unlikely Ayu has much competition. The only things that might hold her back are:

If Koda starts to sell more copies of BEST.. but then again, the sales aren't so high for anything under the no.1 position..
