adidasFAKY!
FAKY have been hired as "campaign icons" in an event with Adidas!
For International Women's Day on March 8th they will show a collaboration video on their Youtube (which keeps picking up steam and is now past 115,000 subscribers) and Line channels. After that, a photo exhibition starring the girls will display in the Adidas Brand Center in RAYARD MAYASHITA PARK until March 31st. This isn't the first time the girls have worked with Adidas, they also held a live show in Adidas's Shibuya store in January of last year: So, we can assume the campaign worked well for Adidas. According to this article, the event attracted more people than could fit in the store. Here's hoping for the new campaign too. I hope someone gets pictures of the photo exhibition. If you're in Japan, please drop by! Last edited by MKAyu; 7th March 2021 at 02:52 AM. Reason: fixed image link |

They uploaded a part of their online live they had not too long ago.
Which was planned to be their first normal live concert after the pandemic (and the first as a 5 member group), but they had to make it online cause of the newly announced state of emergency in the beginning of the year. The ending performance of Who We Are is so sweet! Didn't have time to watch it live, so I didn't buy a ticket. Glad to have an upload, love them.

Faky's new single, 99, is out on streaming sites!
They first unveiled it at their show for Adidas, which was livestreamed below. For just the song, start at 33:51. This will be the theme song for a three-part drama titled "Rika~Reverse." Lil' Fang will also sing a cover of another song that's inserted into an episode. Also, FAKY and fashion magazine NYLON JAPAN just shot a cute video advertising luxury brand Michael Kors. I hope they get to do more of this kind of advertising, they look great. |

99 immeditately entered the top 25 on Line Music when it was released yesterday (currently at #98).
And today they announced a listening campaing for Line Music to further push it. 99 is a really good song. Reminds me of Last Petal, which is my favourite song from them together with Surrender.

A short version of 99 is up introducing the drama Rika Reverse for which it is the theme song.
They also put up the full audio: I love all this horror-related stuff they're doing lately! They have such a cheerful image themselves, but they're doing great. In their latest livestream, Akina said she'd never experienced romance like the lyrics describe, but now she was looking forward to it, ha ha! |

Lil' Fang released a cover of "Ningyo no Ie," a 1968 hit song that will also be used in the drama Rika Reverse (the drama they made 99 for).
It's really beautiful, I like it! It turns out Rika Reverse is also going to be made into a movie, and Ningyo no Ie will be featured in it, too. Congratulations, Lil' Fang! |

Happily Ever After
Taki's time as a reality-show contestant has ended, and Lil' Fang wrote a song for it, just as she did for Hina a year ago. This one is called "Happily Ever After."
Taki gained tens of thousands of Instagram followers from the show and keeps posting sponsored posts now. Congratulations, Taki! |

There's been no music news for almost two months since Take My Hand--so the girls can prepare for lots of live performances and crossover ad campaigns!
First was a live performance on TikTok to promote Akuma to Rabu Songu on June 9: Then another live for Billboard Japan on the TikTok music program Next Fire (which Hina hosts) on June 12: Then, finally an actual live performance in public (sort of--Corona distancing is still a thing). Starting last year, the girls began posting pics of themselves in Crocs on Instagram and in magazine photo shoots... (Full article with the above picture that also features each girl getting an individual shot here at Cosmopolitan.) ...and apparently did a live stream last May in promotion. This year, they started up with the Crocs posts again on Instagram, followed by a livestreamed performance at Harajuku's Atmos Pink flagship store (wearing the crocs, ha!). It's down now, but YouTube Grace on Faky has it up on. (Crocs posted them all decorating their chosen shoes here on Instagram.) The live events are set to continue all summer, mostly at summer festivals with virtual events thrown in. Lil' Fang says she's so happy to be performing live again after so much time in lockdown. Hina and Taki are both back on Abema.
Taki's teen reality dating show, Ookami ni ha Damasarenai, was one cycle of a show that restarts with a new cast each time one group of young people finishes--and Taki was so popular that she's back for the next cycle! Wow. She also appeared on talk show Nichiyou ha Colorful!!! Meanwhile, Hina is one of a panelist of young women on Abema's Koi Suru Method, where they watch silly videos of boys trying to be sexy and judge whether it made them react. With very little fanfare, FAKY released their newest single, "Sayonara, My Ex." The lyrics are attributed to all of them.
Meanwhile, Hina, who at this point could hold Avex financially on her shoulders with all the work she gets, had guest vocals on a song called HAPPY DAYS by a band called SPICY CHOCOLATE. |

"Sayonara My Ex" got to 1 million views in a week, their first music video to do that since "The Light" back in January.
Meanwhile, Akina has released her third solo single, called "Stupid, Careless, Dumb." This one doesn't have a video, but here's Akina showing off her own choreography in a preview: |

Akina is on fire with two singles out.
Stupid, Careless, Dumb, for which she wrote lyrics and music (in English): and Future, a Japanese-language song she did not write. And here is her doing an hour-long performance of all her singles plus answering interview questions between songs on Rolling Stone's Twitch channel: She's a real talent. It's a good thing she's so young, still only 20, with so much time to grow her audience. |

New single! It's a Small World, written by Lil' Fang and Akina with help from UTA, which apparently became the theme song for the East Japan Girls' Ekiden.
And here they are performing it live during their YouTube livestream on November 3 to promote their live concert next year: |

Faky are the very first ever Japanese ambassadors for Tommy Hilfiger Jeans in Japan.
They're up on the main Tommy Jeans Japan webpage as models for the "Metallic Capsule" collection. Here's the PR release. Their instagram is featuring regular uploads of them in the clothes, too. Congratulations, girls! |
