When I went to the Oricon page, I didn't know what to think , "is this good or not?"
But YAY all the partying is awesome =D Seems this is great!
And I totally forgot you had to multiply it by 1.7. Yay for almost 200k first day!

I know Ayu drops fast, so I'm totally not expecting it to outsell BF, and 1million might be a bit too much too, but I really do hope for 850k+ overall sales! That would already be awesome for me ^__^

Noooo it's quite common for compilation albums to be sold at attractive prices. Her new single or album will probably follow the normal prices of 1890 and 3990yen. If you look at the japanese music industry the top albums are dominated by compilations. And ayu will get less royalty per album which nullifies the higher sale numbers if you care about that sort of thing lol!

And truehappiness, it's more like 300k TOTAL. But actually now i'm slightly nervous, what if the days after sort of bomb. But who cares it'll surely outsell Guilty, it has to.

Nice! Of course, I'm slightly afraid that after the first day, it would bomb in sales. But I'm pretty sure it's going to at least do as well as guilty.

Doesn't JE tend to sell their singles at a lower price or something?

Well if tomorrow it will sell above 75,000 index it will be fine. Hopefully it might not drop too much.

it's nice to see the index goes over 100K. I assume the index shall be really similar tomorrow... Usually the difference between tues and wed sales are pretty minimal..

That's a very nice first day number for Ayu. But still, keep your fingers crossed for the rest of the week, because she can't drop too much. Ayu has a tendancy to sell huge the first day but then really drop off.

It sold less. But the point is that BF has an amazing chart life. Ayu's albums typically don't.

Well, A BEST 2 sold 80000 two days in a row (BLACK AND WHITE) so... it's possible she could sell a lot tomorrow too.

-doesn't get hopes up-

Exactly what I thought, hopefully it will be the same with A COMPLETE but yeah, no getting hopes up.

Thing is that when I get my hopes up, bad stuff happens, and when I don't hope... I dunno what'll happen.

It's like how I was like "lol best fiktion iz gonna do liek okay unless she gets lucky as heyyeeelll" and look at how she proved me wrong. DANG U NAMIEYYY.

lol. Yeah, I was shocked by Best Fiction actually (and I'm a big Namie fan!) I thought it would maybe do as well as Play, never thought it would hit a million. But honestly it makes sense when you think about it. A lot of the singles on that album did not sell well when they first came out - maybe because the Japanese didn't like the style change at first? Then they finally started to slowly open up to it with Queen of Hip Hop, then embraced it with Play and then 60s70s80s was huge. So then the compilation comes out and people not only want 60s70s80s, but also all those singles like Alarm, So Crazy, Put em Up, etc that most people in Japan originally shunned.

Personally, I think the sheer value of BEST FICTION made it sell so well..

Think about Ken Hirai's 10 year anniversary best and how it almost hit 2 million. It had a TON of PVs in the limited edition DVD and 10 years worth of songs. I think that BEST FICTION should be considered a mini Utabaka in a way..

Had A COMPLETE included every PV Ayu had ever made, I'm pretty sure she'd have been guaranteed a 900k first week... but dang. That kind of compilation would cost an arm and a leg. Really big ones.
