Honestly I'm enjoying the album.

However speaking in general, but I wonder how the real numbers for sales of CDs/DVDs/BDs would look if stupid Oricon was still including sales of copies being shipped outside Japan as well.

^Personally I felt BoA's US stuff wasn't all they hyped it up to be. I do like the album and do own it, but she has better IMO.

As much as I love BoA, IDENTITY wasn't a good album, it's not bad as MADE IN TWENTY, but still, not a good album.

In my opinion, Who's Back is a pretty solid album and it presents the essence of what Jpop is. Just listen to the famous girlgroups in Japan and their sound is all sugary, as some of the tracks of WB.

And I agree, THE FACE is my favorite album from hers! Too bad Bad Drive wasn't included, I wouldn't mind if it replaced Best Friend or be with you.

After clearing out crap from my harddrive, it seems I kept 5 songs from THE FACE, 1 from MADE IN TWENTY (Gracious Days, although the wintery songs I have kept on my holiday compilation album), most songs on her BEST albums, and all but 1 song (track number 12) from VALENTI. Those are her J-Pop albums.

Although, I just finished listening to the new album and I do feel it's her best yet. There weren't any songs that I felt were stale and cheap. Sometimes J-pop has those fluffy, non-special songs (many of BoA's albums has had this shit), but this album has great melodies and a fresh sound while still being FUN! BoA's got the right idea, or at least her producers do. I appreciate that her material is still very clearly J-pop but with a modern twist, rather than the reverse, which is what most J-artists are doing now-a-days.

IDENTITY is the first BoA album where i felt like she stood out and had a full fleshed out personality on the tracks, some complain that it was boring. I personally thought it was cohesive and interesting and by far my favorite, but each to their own.

But the new album is actually really nice as well, it reminds me of THE FACE in a way. Very carefree and poppy, but i dislike the new track lol.

This happened to me with her new album :-D
after clearing out crap, version of album that I kept in my iPod is left with 5 songs (First Time, Shout it Out, Message, Only One, The Shadow)
hoping she will release something better in Korea, even though I am not a fan of her korean music and I always used to prefer japanese albums (especially Love & Honesty, Valenti and Identity)

Omg, you deleted all the best and FUN tracks! For me that is strange cause the best reason to listen to BoA is because of those fun, care-free, and light songs she makes so wonderfully (FUN, Masayume Chasing, LOVE LETTER, Snow White, Milky Way, Etude). Only One is ok, but I don't like the chorus so much, especially the "youre the only ooooone" part - it sounds like it's just tacked on there. Anyways, it's like a more synthesized version of of Utada Hikaru's Stay Gold; I was finally able to place where that piano melody was coming from!

The songs you prefer have the same tone (as the songs I prefer also have the same tone) so I see what type you prefer, but I have to say that Call my name also has that same tone/feel and it's the best one out of that type of song! Why don't you like that one?
