Search: Fatal error

Quote:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/ahsfor2/public_html/forum/search.php on line 1160
Majority of the time when I try to use search I get this error.
Anyone have any clue as to why I get errors similar to this one?

I get this a lot, too. For a while, it wasn't just a majority of the time, but always. I just checked the search, and I can actually do it for the first time in forever. It just started a few months ago. :\ At first I thought it was only my computer, but now I don't think so. Because I tried clearing my cache/cookies/history and everything, but that did nothing. So.... Yeah. >_<

I don't know.
When I was new there I always refresh the sited and it was error, try later and like that.

And after I'm not at the point that administrator have to accept my comments or post I don't have problems like this anymore.

So if it might be this or something else, I really don't know...

It might sound strange, but it seems to appear when you're searching for long phrases of multiple words, at least it only happens to me in those cases

For me, I usually feel like I get that if I search up too short of a word or something so general that it'd come up with huge results. When I get that message I try to specify/use advance search for the search terms I was using... specify which areas to search.

>.< I wonder what it is but that's my guess; it's just a search overload.

I've had this happen with one or two words, but also with three or more, so..... >_> Like, for example, I've gotten the error when typing in something like "kuu" or "kumi koda", but also "ayumi hamasaki" or "ayumi hamasaki premium countdown live". So, from my experience, it doesn't matter how many words or letters. Guess it's just another way the server likes to act up, eh heh. >.<

^ Maybe because a lot of threads have the word "Ayu" in them?

No matter the length or quantity of words I type, I get this error. Ugh.

Going into advanced search mode doesn't help either.

Can this be fixed somehow?

whether it crashes or not, it never works for me. Whenever I search for certain things like "I am..." "M" or any other "too general" words it says it can't search. haha
