[BTS] The 1st Thread - Welcome, first time with BTS?

^ I believe they brought in some professionals from overseas to work on the tracks this time around, so there's definitely a difference in the production quality compared to their past works.

I also updated my icon to Jungkook for the first time in four years! I'll miss my old one, but I'm happy with this icon (which might also be one of my most favorite photos of him ever).

I'll check the production credits when I receive my albums! Though WINGS was pretty good quality as well, and was an improvement compared to previous works, but iirc the mixing and stuff was done by their usual team... So maybe the bighit staff has bought better equipment and has been improving their skills haha

Glad to have another Jungkook icon here lol You gotta post more ~

Edit: some of the mixing was indeed done by foreigners!

HER promotions have successfully wrapped up and BTS broke tons of new records.

Some interesting things to note:

• HER ranked #2 on Japan's Oricon Weekly Album Chart
• HER is the best-selling album in 2017 on Hanteo
• Over 1.2 million copies of HER sold, the biggest selling album in 16 years on the Gaon chart
• HER is US Billboard's highest-charting K-pop album ever at #7 with the genre's biggest sales week
• DNA peaked at #64 on Billboard Hot 100, and has been there for 4 weeks thus far

I'm... still in awe and amazement. I never, ever thought I'd see these boys climb so high.

I'm so proud of them, hoping they achieve even more next time! Btw, speaking of Oricon, they topped the monthly chart for September ^^

Also, they are releasing a new Japanese single: "MIC Drop / DNA / Crystal Snow". It will include Japanese versions of MIC Drop and DNA, as well as an original Japanese song Crystal Snow.

It will have 4 versions:

Type A CD+DVD (Limited): includes MIC Drop (Japanese ver.) MV

Type B CD+DVD (Limited): includes MIC Drop (Japanese ver.) MV making-of and cover shooting

Type C CD-only (Limited): includes photobook

Regular edition: CD-only

If it wasn't for the whistling I'd enjoy the song DNA. Whistling is one thing I cannot tolerate.

Literally me. I didn't mind the whistling at first, but while streaming for hours at a time, that's all I could hear. I'd turn the volume down low, but I could always, ALWAYS hear the whistling as much as I tried to tune it out.

And at first, I didn't care for the stereotypical love-centric lyrics about "fate" and "this is our destiny~" because I didn't understand what it had to do in the context of loving yourself, but I'm starting to understand it better now after some of the interviews... It'll be interesting to see how they manage to twist the theme of love in the next album.

All that aside, I still think it's a solid song.
