Happy 20th Anniversary, ayumi hamasaki
This has to have her own thread.
Happy 20th Anniversary Ayu, thank you for the music and thank you for being who you are. Here's hoping for more good things to come in the future. |

I’ve been a fan for roughly 10 years now and still enjoy Ayu’s music to this day. Happy 20th Anniversary!

Happy 20th anniversary to Ayu! I've celebrated by binge-listening to her music all day. I don't think there is another artist out there who has made such an enormous amount of amazing, complex, varied pop music, and Ayu keeps impressing with her songs and words. I wish her happiness and good fortune and hope she can keep making music for years to come.

I ended up sending her a TA message and then watching her first 5 years of PVs and then the original PoM. I hope she feels a lot of satisfaction in what she's achieved

Happy 20th anniversary Ayu, i've been your fan for like 9 years, almost half of my lifetime lol, i've discovered your music at 12 and i'm now 21. I can't believe how times flies, it feels like yesterday. I'm glad you came into my life, and i owe you so much ♥ |

Happy Anniversary! Time flies incredibly fast. I remember getting to know her by listening to the first thing internet threw at me after typing her name and that was "My Story Classical" - the magic was cast on me and it continued after checking the first concert "Countdown 04-05", god what a blast it was. I haven't stopped being a fan, didn't even have any real breaks. She has influenced my life much and I am grateful for that. Cheers, to Ayu!

Again, happy 20th anniversary, Ayu.
But April 8th this year was a Sunday... But, honestly, where have some of the people at AHS have gone? Except for a couple I'm among the older ones currently active on AHS, having joined late 2006/early 2007... |

Happy 20th anniversary Ayu.
My gosh 20 years have gone by. I myself have been following her for 15 years already. And her music and songs really helped me trough my younger days. So much joy, laughter, tears, despair and when nobody was around, her music and voice were and still are a guidepost for me. I couldn't do much on her anniversary day because I was at work but from yesterday and today I am on a listening spree. Thanks Ayu for everything I hope that I will be able to see her live someday

Well to be fair, it's not like we're expecting Ayu to come across this thread or anything...I think even 5 or 10 years ago we had more hope that Ayu would "discover" us and these kinds of threads had more of a place in the scheme of welcoming her to interacting with us. These days it's more about being happy between fans so less people bother to post. Besides heaps of people tweeted her so it's not like she has been forgotten!

I guess people in their 30's just tend to grow out of being a fan? Or most of the time being a fan of someone doesn't last forever : For example i was a very huge fan of a band before discovering Ayu, eventually this passion for them faded out and lasted only 2 or 3 years, i still like them of course, i listen to their music from times to times and keep up with the new stuff, but i can't consider myself a fan anymore. It's very likely that it's what happened with those inactive members. |

I spent the 8th watching PVs around 1 or 2am and then watching some live performances when I woke up later that day (and I also wore one of my Ayumi t-shirts). Can't believe it's been 14 years since I became a fan. I was 18 then and 32 now. Looking forward to future releases from Ayumi! |

Wow, can't believe I've been a fan of this woman for 14 years now. I remember finding her as a recommendation when I was 13 after falling in love with Utada.
I'm not crazy about her newer albums and I'm not sure how huge of a fan I am currently, but she's always going to have a very special place in my heart, and all of her albums up until Love Again will always be wonderful to me. (I did really enjoy Made in Japan though, a great step forward!) |
