i haven't been here in a while, but i caught up with arashi's recent music! and omg is "Face Down" amazing or what?! the PV is so awesome. the guys look so hot, seriously, lol. the song itself is just brilliant. i'm so happy that there's a sakurap, and it rocks! this single is just amazing in every way. i'm like almost speechless, haha. i love every single, but this is like that "hot" a-side that i've kinda been waiting for. it's just so...amazing.
i also heard "Your Eyes" (another single next month is just such happy news for me, lol. i didn't expect it!) and it's a really nice song! i love it obviously, haha. but right now i'm gonna have "Face Down" on repeat. like seriously, this song is just.....brilliant. i'm a really happy arashi fangirl right now, but i always am because it's arashi, haha. |

Face Down scans
credits to anj CD Spoiler:
CD + DVD LE booklet Spoiler:
The booklet shots are the same outfits that the guys wear in the Face Down PV (not the main scenes but the inserts) I frankly find the pics OK for my liking but what's up with the over layering of so many outfits on each of them ? o_O

Well, that was expected for #1. I have to say this: I had to play "realistically" in terms of sales between Arashi and NMB48. I mean, NMB48 has quite some good momentum, but they're still in their first year (well, almost the end of it), while Arashi already has more than ten years of experience. I'm sure NMB48 will have the popularity on par as, say, SKE48, but when competing with Arashi, that's still not a chance yet, until there's some decline showing on Arashi...
...but what I'm seeing here is that Arashi has yet to lose some steam. As of now, the only group that can outsell Arashi would be AKB48, but I'm not sure what's going on with them either... ...but anyways, that's a good job getting #1. And I think that's it - we've been familiar with AKS groups' drops that are more steep than Johnny's groups; these boys are pretty far more consistent than the girls... By the way, any higher resolution covers for the single? |

Okay guys, this might sound totally unbelievable, but it's confirmed:
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be the "Plus One Guests" in an upcoming episode of "vs. Arashi"! If this is not awesome then I don't know what is! I can't wait to watch this!! I hope we will hear some Engrish from our five Rainbow-boys!

プラスワンゲスト (Plus one guest)
ウィル・スミス トミー・リー・ジョーンズ ( Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones) They will be on Arashi's team competing against the guest team: ゲストチーム (Guest Team) ■アスリートチーム(Athlete Team) 高田延彦 野村忠宏 大畑大介 五十嵐圭 小椋久美子 城下麗奈 http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/program/56041975/ Never would have expected this to happen , especially since I know Will Smith is actually a big SMAP fan in actual fact :p Even if so , I suspect for next week's episode , both of them will only appear in a small segment in VS ARASHI . They will not be in the whole show , I doubt so === Face Down 2nd day sales - 115,799 http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/js/d/2012-05-09/ Total 2 day sales - 366,214 Face Down will get #1 since NMB48 dropped like a stone on the 2nd day aka 21,837 :x

ARASHI named most powerful celebrities in Japan
In today's entertainment world, who is the person with the highest degree of familiarity and interest from the public? "Nikkei Entertainment!"'s June edition, which is now on sale, features its fifth annual "Talent Power Ranking." In its "Talent Power Ranking," public research company Architect investigated "public degree of familiarity (knowing the name and face)" and "degree of interest (wanting to see, wanting to know, wanting to listen)" and calculated their power as talents and finally ranked them. Those included in the list were actors, comedians, musicians, sports figures, announcers, and other celebrities and totaled 1,196 stars. The ranking's top ten: 1位「Arashi」(2) 2位「Southern All-Stars」(3) 3位「Matsushima Nanako」(42) 4位「Beat Takeshi」(8) 5位「Ayase Haruka」(11) 6位「Fukuyama Masaharu」(1) 7位「Abe Hiroshi」(22) 8位「Akashiya Sanma」(7) 9位「SMAP」(15) 10位「Ichiro」(5) *The number in the parenthesis indicate their rank last year http://aramatheydidnt.livejournal.com/3790323.html o_o

Arashi tops Nikkei’s ‘Talent Power Ranking’
Which celebrities are drawing the most attention and have the highest name value? The answers were revealed through the June issue of information magazine ‘Nikkei Entertainment!‘. This ‘Talent Power Ranking’ is held every quarter by Nikkei Entertainment and was created by ARCHITECT Co., Ltd.. They take a survey and examine people’s “degree of recognition” and “degree of interest” out of 1,196’s talents. From the survey, they calculate each talent’s “talent power score” and a wide range of celebrities can be on this ranking including actor/actress, comedians, musicians, athletes, announcers and more. The winner for the latest ranking is none other than Arashi. The group moved up one spot from their second place finish last year. The individual members also ranked in the top 50, Sakurai Sho is #15, Aiba Masaki is #28, Ohno Satoshi is #30, Ninomiya Kazunari is #31 and Matsumoto Jun is #41. Southern All Stars raised up their ranking to claim second place even though they’re on hiatus. The magazine analyzed that it’s mainly because of the constructive activities of Kuwata Keisuke for supporting the victims of the Tohoku earthquake. He had produced a charity songs and held concerts in Miyagi, and such activities raised the profile of Southern All Stars. Matsushima Nanako ranked in third place. It seems that her roles in NTV’s hit drama ‘Kaseifu no Mita‘ and Fuji TV’s Getsu9 drama ‘Lucky Seven‘ was good enough to give her the third spot. Check out the top 30 ranking below. [Talent Power Ranking 2012] Period for examination : February 15th – 29th of 2012 Ranking / (Previous Ranking) : Talent Name / Power score(pt.) / Degree of recognition (%)*1 01 / (06) : Arashi / 50.3 / 91.2% 02 / (02) : Southern All Stars / 49.3 / 88.4% 03 / (14) : Matsushima Nanako / 48.1 / 91.5% 04 / (09) : Kitano Takeshi / 47.5 / 94.3% 05 / (04) : Ayase Haruka / 47.3 / 88.6% 06 / (01) : Fukuyama Masaharu / 46.9 / 94.5% 07 / (13) : Abe Hiroshi / 45.7 / 90.4% 08 / (05) : Akashiya Sanma / 44.6 / 96.6% 09 / (11) : SMAP / 44.2 / 96.2% 10 / (03) : Ichiro Suzuki / 44.1 / 96.0% 11 / (29) : Taka and Toshi / 43.9 / 91.6% 12 / (22) : Asada Mao / 43.8 / 92.5% 13 / (18) : Mukai Osamu / 43.6 / 88.3% 14 / (17) : Cream Stew / 43.4 / 92.6% 15 / (07) : Sakurai Sho(Arashi) / 42.9 / 91.1% 16 / (19) : Amami Yuki / 42.5 / 84.9% 17 / (48) : Ueda Shinya / 41.6 / 91.8% 18 / (12) : Becky / 41.3 / 95.9% 19 / (94) : Darubisshu Yuu / 41.2 / 91.5% 19 / (29) : Okamura Takashi (NINETY-NINE) / 41.2 / 90.0% 19 / (22) : Bakusho Mondai /41.2 / 91.8% 22 / (16) : Down Town / 40.8 / 95.3% 22 / (26) : Tamori / 40.8 / 98.1% 24 / (20) : Tokoro George / 40.6 / 96.5% 25 / (24) : Matsumoto Hitoshi(Down Town) / 40.5 / 95.0% 26 / (21) : Kuwata Keisuke / 40.2 / 86.8% 27 / (32) : Ikegami Akira / 40.0 / 87.5% 28 / (10) : Aiba Masaki(Arashi) / 39.8 / 84.6% 29 / (34) : Nakama Yukie / 39.7 / 90.4% 30 / (08) : Ohno Satoshi(Arashi) / 39.5 / 86.8% *1 Degree of recognition = People know both their name and how they look http://www.tokyohive.com/2012/05/ara...power-ranking/

A bit disappointed that Face Down will not sell as well as their previous singles , especially since the A-side's stellar guess it's due to the somewhat cheap PV that brought things down but whatever :x

FACE DOWN is a masterpiece! OMG I'm so surprised and excited XD
I first heard it on MSta 2-hour special. They performed it right after Love so sweet and the difference between these songs was so impressing!! Awesome performance then I saw HEY!x3 live and that was not so fierce XD

their HEYx3 performance of Face Down was not a live broadcast unlike MUSIC STATION
Usually HEYx3 will be recorded about 2 weeks + prior to the actual broadcast on TV but yeah what they did on MUSIC STATION regarding the Love so sweet + Face Down medley & comparing it against what they did on HEYx3 , it's such a big difference

^oh I didn't know about HEY!x3
now I've watched the PV and it sucks so much T_T why couldn't they do something like MSta performance? also read the translation and I love them. btw is it me or this song is a bit influenced by kpop? I'm not a fan of kpop, so I can't say exactly, but when I first saw tv live I thought it was something like an "answer" to kpop.
