I don't think it is obvious for anymore, the person who made the poll wants to know what ppl in here think is better in hip hop...
It is not to bash Kumi, I think, even people who choose Namie may like Koda Kumi, and viceversa, for me I choose Namie but I LOVE Kuu

^ Exactly. Why would I make a thread to bash Kuu if I like her music?
I did a list somewhere in this thread.

I luv both Namie and Ku~. So it's too difficult for me to choose who!?! Because Namie and Ku~ have other style of hip-hop. Before, I noticed Ku~ cause she has the style as Namie, but after that I realized that she's different from Namie. And now, I won't vote for Namie or Ku~. Because they're my idols ^_^

Just listen to SUITE CHIC and be convinced.
I love Koda Kumi too, but Namie's much better. ^_^ |

yup SUITE CHIC- When pop hits the fan is a great hip-hop album to start with...it's produced, composed, written and feat. all the biggest hip-hop producers and artist. Even daisuke imai (koda kumi's hip-hop producer+song writer) wrote couple of songs for suite chic...

definately Namie... Koda hasn't released much "hip-hop" period... she's a dancey pop girl... she should stick to that, not hip-hop... her attemp (Hotstuff) was mediocre... I much prefer her other music... leave the hip-pop to Namie (who's style I LURVE)

hmmm Namie is more urban and contrary to kuu she didn't turn pop to sale more : she still urban and it will continue like this.
But to tell you the truth, even if I love Namie, especially "want me want me" (awesome) or "can't..." (the japanese version of "crazy in love"/"deja vu" or "get right" but less powerfull), when I see Namie performing I think she's not interesting and she's quite boring : is she drunk or stone or something? it seems like she's bored everytime !!! kuu have more energy, but less talent ! Based on the earlier clips I've seen of Namie, I think she was more talkative and outgoing earlier in her career. She was, afterall, a newly discovered star, so all of the fame would be enough to make someone very happy and smiley. It seems that she has slowly gotten more shy. Who knows why. I'm guessing it's because she has a son now and thus has something, or rather someone, to put before her career. Also, she has been burned by the media before. Following her divorce, rumors started springing up that she was more concerned with her career than her family. That sort of talk would make me less enthused about being noticed.

Amuro Namie, hands down. Koda Kumi's hip-hop music is generally forgettable; I really don't know what genre I can place Koda's style in, but I know it's not hip-hop. Whenever I want a good hip-hop song, I always play my Namie mp3s.
