3.28 release date means it is coming out officially on Monday but with these sorts of release dates they usually release it for sale the week prior.

For me the remastered changes aren't that evident. Maybe if I were to play them back to back, but I don't think I will.

The remastering is nice. I'm actually now curious to hear what A Best 2 would sound like remastered, if she ever does it. Lol. Maybe one day she will do a remastered version of Party Queen. A fan can dream. ~_~

The only remaster I don't like is To Be... too much reverb. But everything sounds so good.

Is there a FLAC copy of the remastered album floating around yet?

If anything is getting remastered, it'd probably be A BALLADS.
However, "re-remastering" seems to be a thing, so it's not like they can't go back and do everything in super "high res" audio. There are some super obvious changes in the remastering like Who... has the ooo oo ooos toned down in the background and other little things. Lots of little sounds that were not previously audible that were brought up.

Maybe it's placebo, but Depend on you sounds so FULL to me! I already love that song, now I am pretty sure I'll overplay the hell out of it I am still halfway through the album, another song that I noticed big changes was TO BE, there is a kind of synthetic wave on it, a sound coming and going during the song

The bass drum hits on SURREAL are much more even now.
I like how the vocals are brought up a little bit in LOVE~Destiny~... I've never been crazy about the song, but hearing her vocals a bit more clearly makes it feel much more tender & intimate. There is a bit too much reverb on the vocals in TO BE but the instrumentation sounds much better. The bass reduction on "Trust" is rather problematic... the warmth of the bass helped drown out some of the messier aspects of the instrumentation, which are now fully audible. I'm glad A Song for XX and M aren't changed too much, but I think upping the bass on M when the chorus kicks in would have helped the drama/dynamics a bit in context with the rest of the album's remastering.

The Button rows seem to be placeholders for the Deluxe box. (I assume you get the actual box at the cash desk)

Listening to the 15th anniversary of End roll and it sounds really different to me.. Is there a difference between the single and album versions?

^ Not for the BEST, the only re-sung songs there were ASFxx, Trust and Depend on you. And as far as I know there was no album version of End roll, but I also got the feeling there's something different, guess it was just the remastering
(Gosh, listening to A ONE after this best is such a contrast on the mixing work...) |
