I suppose Norway counts as western, right?

If so, then Didrik Solli-Tangen - The Journey

Perfect album!

Hmm..let's see..this year I was REALLY centrated on asian music that I left western favourites in a far away corner..but still, I had the chance to listen to a few western cds..I enjoyed Britney Jean (not all songs, maybe half of the album..). Prior the release, ARTPOP was described as an outstanding effort but it kinda failed to impress me that much ...this doesn't mean that I do not like many songs from it..The Saturdays' album was kind of a let down for me...but my tastes in music have changed a lot so.. (I still enjoy a lot more their first 2 albums)..I still haven't listened to Beyonce's latest album...

Amaranthe - The Nexus

I can rock out to every song on that album!

PRISM, with BEYONCÉ being a very close second.

Mirrors?

My favorite was definitely Bey's. With Drake, JT, and Jay Z close behind.

ARTPOP was so amazing it actually made into Lady Gaga (for now) and Bangerz is my adorable, little, flawless piece of cake, they were my two big surprises this year! <3 And, from what I can hear (but I started listening to it just a week ago, so I could change my mind) BEYONCE is mindblowing.
Britney Jean was kind of a let down and PRISM was supernice, but definitely not the album of the year for me.

I really wish that I could vote for Daft Punk, but I hate that album so much. I was so disappointed. While Human After All was no Discovery, at least it was still good. RAM was just so... underwhelming. I'm going to vote for Bangerz. That album was a little messy, but at least it was interesting.

Voted other,

My choice is "Love Lust Faith + Dreams" by Thirty Seconds To Mars

Forgot about JAY-Z's "Magna Carta, Holy Grail" too! That was great too.

I'm gonna get my head hacked off for this probably, but what does anyone hear good about ARTPOP? The singles are catchy and everything else sounds like noise. Not to mention, her lyrics are about as deep as a birdbath.
