WARNING: Candid comments; read at your own risk!

Distance was a technical advancement from First Love, which was okay, but left much to be desired, imho. It had Utada's catchiest songs and some of her most clever lyrics. I enjoyed the songs. Deep River was kinda a disappointment. I liked the singles, but found the album material very bland and almost "overdone." They sounded too much like songs she'd already written.

I say First Love. I fell in love with that song and I can't stop listening to it. Distance comes in second.

I prefere Distance. I enjoyed the album from start to finish. I didn't really like Deep River. The singles were good, but the rest of the album wasn't so hot. I thought Utada could of done much better. Hopefully her album being released in the states will be one of her best.

Distance definitely! Not as technically great as Deep River but very diverse and had some classic songs.

Well, i love all 3 albums, but Distance is my favourite. It contains more of my favourite songs. Still though, it is a difficult decision.

Agreed. Go with Distance. First Love is good - AUTOMATIC is a great song, but... Distance has so MANY good songs on it. Deep River has her 3 great singles on it (which are still convincing enough to get this album), but the rest of the album runs dry.

Buy Distance. It's Hikki's best.

I liked distance the most.
I mean, First Love was good, but in terms of composition and catchyness, Distance beat it by a mile.
I liked the Deep River singles, but the other songs I didn't like so much... like they were just filler material.

Distance is my favourite album of hers, Deep River was... so-so. And while First Love was definately great, I enjoy the tracks on Distance a bit more.
