okay i found something really unexpected while reading sayonara, zetsubou sensei !!!

i watched and read this years ago and on a reread when i read cry to songs i knew there HAS to be an ayu reference since the series is packed with references

and another less interesting sighting was this in a chinese shop (i was looking for ayu things the whole trip there...)

I read the chapter from volume 1 and the context is that Japanese people are too nice. They'll say you're cute if you're not cute or cry at a song that has no meaning due to politeness. This was around 2007+ onward so I guess it was probably songs from around that era it was poking at.

I was watching anime and suddenly I noticed a familiar poster lol

Serie: Ikebukuro West Gate Park Episode 10

I'm sure this is not the first time I saw this poster in anime, I can't remember the names but I think there are a couple more animes that have used that same poster, maybe it become like a stock file for anime backgrouds (?)

I was watching comedians Tomochika and Yurian Retriever web show and they mentioned Ayu. They joke that the year is 2002 and mention something like "Ayu released one after another CD this year" and that she was a big hit and even people that were not her fan became her fan after watching a dorama (My Little Chef) featuring her song (Voyage). And then they start impersonating Ayu lol
