God, I forgot Ami Suzuki existed. I need to revisit Dolce again.
Anyone remember the girl band ZONE? I was in love with the song Akashi I was also into Aya Matsuura, and all her crazy songs. |

This video looks back to the great TK hits of the 90s. I wish hitomi got a bit more coverage though. They only included Candy Girl. |

^ Wow, I'd never heard this song before but it's AMAZING! Does Mariya Takeuchi have more great 80s material like this?
--- I wanna talk a little about one of my favourite old j-pop songs: Yes, it's originally a Kylie Minogue song, but Wink's version is completely different and so much better! The Japanese lyrics transform the song from a sweet, friendly thing into a story of passion, conflict, cheating?, and unstoppable attraction. I can't get over the line "My fingers tremble as I turn off the lights in the room"; it sounds so charged and suggestive. Wink's subdued delivery fits the lyrics so well, it gives off the feeling that the speaker of the lyrics has stopped trying to resist and has given herself over to her feelings despite knowing it will probably get people hurt. And the production is just perfect late-80s cheese, I love it. |

I discovered these gems. <3
Then there's Spitz. And my favorite MOON CHILD song I'll throw some Nana Katase in here, too. And a song that most ayu fans would recognize. Last edited by YuriChan; 7th February 2018 at 07:57 PM. |

Since Namie's retirement has re-introduced some people to the fantastic Super Monkey's music, I figured I'd add something here with the other forgotten about spin-off - MAX! This is my absolute favorite MAX song.
And for good measure, another bop: Last edited by voltron; 8th February 2018 at 01:28 PM. |
