TVXQ (often stylized TVXQ![1] or TVfXQ[2]), an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi[3] (東方神起), is a South Korean boy band quintet formed under SM Entertainment in 2003. In South Korea they are known as Dong Bang Shin Gi (동방신기); they were later introduced in Japan as Tohoshinki (東方神起, Tōhōshinki?) under the Avex sub-label Rhythm Zone in 2005. Being tall is a big favor in korea. For example, to be an idol star in Korea,
the male stars would need to be over 170 cm in heigh.
In reality, actually around 180 cm or even taller is preferred for a male star.

On the other hand, Japanese stars such as Arashi, their average height is around 170 cm.
Ono is 166cm and Ninomiya is 168 cm. But they are very popular in Japan.
So, does that mean, Japanese ladies prefer men's who are shorter in height?

When being questioned, Japanese ladies answered that they do not necessary prefer males who are short.
A Japanese female exclusive website, "Joymagu" did their own research and the results came out that
84% Japanese ladies had answered that they prefer men who are about 10-20 cm taller than them.

When being asked, Japanese ladies answered that they do favor stars who are tall like TVXQ.
However, they understand that an ideal height is an ideal height.
But in real life, they are not too strict with their patner's height.
That is how the result of the research had came out in Japan.

I could not find a video when Arashi and TVXQ performed together at the Music station.
(Back in March, 09?) But, I do remember that Arashi was standing right next to
TVXQ (next to YH & CM. The tall ones.) And I was surprised by their difference in height.
No offence to Arashi fans, as I understand that they are good bunch of talented guys.

What's the average height for Chinese guys? Is it taller like Koreans or shorter like Japanese? I noticed Koreans seem to be much taller than other Asian elasticities. They're all so the better dancers. haha

DBSK as a whole is pretty tall. Jaesuchun looks short but that's only because they're always standing next to giants like Homin. XDD

JaeSuChun are pretty tall~ they're almost 180 cm..
yes, girl* is right, they're standing near HoMin who are very very tall that's why they look short..haha..but if you see the real person, you will feel that JaeSuChun are not that short~

i kinda of think that Korean guys are the tallest in Asia? i don't know..because more of Korean artists are very tall.. the majority of it..
