Looking for good Cpop.

Hey everyone. I'm really into world music && music in general. I listen to some 'Cpop' like Jolin Tsai. But, that's really all. I have some Faye Wong and Gigi Leung.. but I'm not crazy about their styles..

any suggestions on good songs or artists?

FoObY 15th December 2005 08:48 PM

I definitely recommend F.I.R. I personally also like Joey Yung

bulmasman 15th December 2005 08:48 PM

I don't really like the idol singers such as Jolin Tsai, SHE, Jungiery stars etc. But they are given good songs by their producers.

I'd recommend Penny Tai, David Tao, Fanfan and JJ Lin.

ruixiong89 16th December 2005 03:14 PM

Wow, I guess everyone pretty much introduced the better Cpop singers! But yup, I suggest you really look out for Jay Chou and Stefanie Sun Yanzi. They're really really really good. And if you're looking for Cpop with a little Jpop inclinations, I think Jolin Tsai fits the bill. She has some catchy tunes! S.H.E. is great too but I didn't take a liking to their new album for some reason. Maybe it'll take time to grow on me.

Yeah, Def. some Cpop with a Jpop flavor would be nice :)

miracleofsuzaku 17th December 2005 03:29 AM

Here's a warning: don't put too much hope on Cantonese Pop these days because most of the newcomers are very..."inexperienced."
For Mandarin Pop, I highly recommend:
Jay Chou
Coco Lee
Pan Wei Bo(Wilber Pan)
Wang Lee Hom
S.H.E.
some of Jolin Tsai's songs are good but some are kinda....

HvnSntGurl 17th December 2005 11:30 PM

I listen too:
Jolin Tsai
Jay Chou
CoCo Lee
Wang LeeHom

if u like upbeat music, i suggest just sticking to mandarin pop as 95% of the cantonese songs r ballads. sadly i dunno much mando pop myself, but [im sure others have mentioned this already] leehom, dave tao, jay, stef sun, FIR etc.

Nu-NRG 18th December 2005 03:44 AM

ohh i forgot bout one more..
Angela Chang :yes
and
might as well...throw in Amei Chang there :D

ph33r 19th December 2005 11:31 PM

Fast Cantopop sucks =) Unless it's some of the oooold stuff.

Mandarin is good for fast and slow, and mandarin singers sing better than canto singers, except for Hacken.

Ballerina_xXX 19th December 2005 11:40 PM

Any Chinese Rappers or RnB singers?? How about Rock Bands??

ohhh then you should check out Wang Lee Hom and Jay Chou :yes
and more recent tracks by Edison Chen are quite decent
as for rock bands
try mayday, shun
those are mandarin..but if you want cantonese then try
Beyond, Ping Pung(their style is more like...rock infuse with uh...techno?)

miracleofsuzaku 20th December 2005 03:21 AM

For rapper/R & B, check out Pan Wei Bo(Wilber Pan) because he's called "the new prince of Chinese rap/r & b" or something like that. Try his song Bu De Bu Ai.
You should also try Wang Lee Hom and Jay Chou.

kanariyaXX 20th December 2005 04:18 AM

nan quan ma ma, jay chou, relax one, alicia chen, cyndi wang, jolin tsai, f.i.r., elva hsiao, landy, michelle & vickie,

RubbishMui 21st December 2005 03:58 PM

mainland china music is not bad..

i recommend Na Ying.. her voice just blew me away!

other mainland artists that are quite popular in China are Han Hong, Sun Nan, Liang Liang, Dao Lang...

the only group i know is Mr. Flower (Hua Er Yue Due) .. not sure if they are from mainland tho..but their song 嘻唰唰 (Xi Shuai Shuai :S hope i got the pinyin right there) is quite catchy :)

littlefairyfromnam 21st December 2005 07:03 PM
