Looking for good Cpop.

Hey everyone. I'm really into world music && music in general. I listen to some 'Cpop' like Jolin Tsai. But, that's really all. I have some Faye Wong and Gigi Leung.. but I'm not crazy about their styles..

any suggestions on good songs or artists?

I don't really like the idol singers such as Jolin Tsai, SHE, Jungiery stars etc. But they are given good songs by their producers.

I'd recommend Penny Tai, David Tao, Fanfan and JJ Lin.

Wow, I guess everyone pretty much introduced the better Cpop singers! But yup, I suggest you really look out for Jay Chou and Stefanie Sun Yanzi. They're really really really good. And if you're looking for Cpop with a little Jpop inclinations, I think Jolin Tsai fits the bill. She has some catchy tunes! S.H.E. is great too but I didn't take a liking to their new album for some reason. Maybe it'll take time to grow on me.

Here's a warning: don't put too much hope on Cantonese Pop these days because most of the newcomers are very..."inexperienced."
For Mandarin Pop, I highly recommend:
Jay Chou
Coco Lee
Pan Wei Bo(Wilber Pan)
Wang Lee Hom
S.H.E.
some of Jolin Tsai's songs are good but some are kinda....

if u like upbeat music, i suggest just sticking to mandarin pop as 95% of the cantonese songs r ballads. sadly i dunno much mando pop myself, but [im sure others have mentioned this already] leehom, dave tao, jay, stef sun, FIR etc.

Fast Cantopop sucks =) Unless it's some of the oooold stuff.

Mandarin is good for fast and slow, and mandarin singers sing better than canto singers, except for Hacken.

ohhh then you should check out Wang Lee Hom and Jay Chou
and more recent tracks by Edison Chen are quite decent
as for rock bands
try mayday, shun
those are mandarin..but if you want cantonese then try
Beyond, Ping Pung(their style is more like...rock infuse with uh...techno?)
