Now, if only I could somehow get subs so I know exactly what they're talking about, rather than a couple words here and there :P

The guest (I've forgotten her name now) appears to have some sort of fake hip, from my guess, and she cracks it and makes a really loud noise which freaks everyone (Ayu, Matsumoto & Hamada) out. :D

But that's just me without really knowing the language :P

I don't really keep up with many J-Pop artists (ironic, I know. I'm on a huge Ayu forum), so I've heard of BoA and I've heard her sing a song or two, but have never seen her, so that's pretty cool if it is. The only Japanese music I have on my mp3 player is Ayu, Gackt, Do As Infinity and Every Little Thing. :P

Yeah but it is seriously quite a disturbing, loud noise it makes, haha. Ayu jumps, as do the others. Poor ayu had to be right beside her when she did it - must've scared her to death.

I don't know much about double joints (except I've heard that it doesn't really exist, and is just a term for a very flexible joint), but I have what most people would call double-jointed legs, as I can do that "pretzel" thing gymnasts sometimes do, where they place their legs over and behind their heads/necks. If that makes sense. But, my point is, my legs don't make any sort of noise like that whatsoever, so either it was extremely exaggerated for television, or it's a fake hip or something. I don't know.
Anyway, if you do end up translating either just that part, or the entire episode (you know you want to! ;);)), thank you very much!

...wow. That was 2003, and this vid is 2006. Ayu is a big faker? Maybe she was just surprised and forgot about it (she is, after all a very busy person, and Kudo Shizuka did it quickly and suddenly). I don't know - FAKE AYU! I YELL AT YOU. FIRST THE "I CAN'T RIDE A BIKE"-THING, NOW THIS?! I AM SO ASHAMED OF YOU! :o (I joke, I joke)

that's one of the iconic jpop artist 工藤 静香(Kudo Shizuka) back in the late 80's along with Noriko Sakai etc

Well, I've already seen the video and it seems it is Ayumi herself who first tells about that hip cracking thing about Kudo Shizuka, so she still remembered. She still did surprise though, as I did, cause when I saw that Ayuready one the noise wasn't so strong, now it gave me the creeps :dead2

I don't know enough Japanese, so I didn't realize Ayu was really the one explaining everything. All I could was Ayu was talking about hips.

oh i remember this episode!!!!! hey hey hey, is one of those shows where i dont feel stupid laughing alone. i dun remember her name, but it freaked the hell outta me when she cracked her hip. this makes me want to procrastinate doing work and watch this episode again. hAHa.

Yup, Ayu didn't fake her astonishment. She knew about it before hand. But you do realise that there are certain things that you'll still be shocked over and over again! I have friends who can do really weird things like have their eyes both go different directions and it never fails to freak me out. This is just one of those things for Ayu.
