so i've seen alot of polls based on songs that are in no way related but have the same words in the titles put against eachother so here's another i'll add!

I can't stand these songs but
ayus doesn't make me cringe

OK, I really can't stand Koda overall, but you is her most outstanding song, a lot better than Ayu's

omg "you" is so boring, I remember even when I was a koda stan I was SO PISSED at her singing it live all of the time. "YOU" is a lot more beautiful, especially in the re-recordings she did.

Kumi's song

Ayu's, actually. It's a classic for me. I love Kuu's too, but not as much as Ayu's.

Koda kumi's is better.

I vote for Kumi's you

ayumi's YOU - I don't like the original but the 10th anniversary version's nice

They're both classics, and both great.

But Koda's stands out just a little bit more. The melody is fantastic for this type of song.

^ yeah & you is somehow her very 1st #1 single so all the more that song's definitely & probably special to Kumi in a way or 2

I can never understand the hatred towards the song seriously :o . The song's beautiful be it lyrically & musically

ayu's is much more beautiful imo!

I don't really see how they can be compared any further than personal preference or the current mood. "YOU" and "you" are so different, and both singers sound completely different.

I personally prefer Ayu's, but that's because of the unique quality of her early music and my current preferences (a year ago or two ago I might have still been saying I hated her early stuff; now I love it). The whole tone is sweet, nostalgic, and thoughtful.

I can understand the appeal of Koda'; it's more modern and the video tells more of a story, where Ayu's is more a sequence of paintings. For me though Koda's music became really boring, save for a few singles, after Affection.
