How many times has ayu performed at Tokyo Dome?
We all know she has made a gig there during Dome Tour 2001, but has she ever performed there again?
|
As i remember she also performed at Tokyo dome during Arena tour 2006! i'm not really sure, though!
|
^ no she didn't
|
"arena tour" is a self explanatory tittle....
The only time she performed at Tokyo Dome as far as I remember, was during Dome Tour... |
hmm I wonder why she never peformed there more... yeah, it's a big stadium, but I'm sure tickets would sell out if she did a concert there..
|
during 2001, あゆ only performed 4 times at Tokyo Dome...if you look up to old schedule date at official website...
|
It probably isn't cheap to rent and she can't sell out at TD anymore, not at this point in her career. 2001 was about the time of her peak.
|
^I don't see why she couldn't, she has way more than 50k+ fans. Especially if it were a one time thing and not a tour.
I don't think she has performed in any dome since DT because she had bad experiences then. |
If Koda Kumi can do a dome show (I don't know if FANTASIA sold out or not) so can Ayu...

I think it's because DOME TOUR was a pretty big strain on her. (And I guess domes in general?)
It was when she did the domes that she started to have the hearing issues really badly even though they seemed to also be kind of a side effect from whatever happened during concert tour 2000 and some sort of ear infection she had at the time... Whatever the case is, I'm not sure if she'll ever do a dome again. I wish she would since it would allow a TON of people to see her (and it would be awesome), but at the same time, if she's avoiding domes, I don't think she needs to start performing in them any time soon. |
^Definitely, there's like a bad stigma around the whole dome thing, I'd be surprised to see her do a dome show again.
|
Maybe it's just like Namie... She can easily sell out arenas (and probably domes), but she prefer to perform on halls for some reason... Maybe the size of the venue just fits the way she performs better...
|
it'd be great if she could perform in Dome again..
and i remember that she did dome tour to OSAKA dome too rite? she didn't just perform in Tokyo but Osaka too rite? 4 biggest domes in Japan that i remember. |
^Yeap, the 4 biggest Domes in Japan...^^
|
She doesn't perform in domes because they tend to have bad acoustics (i.e. sound from the stage in the Tokyo Dome has a lag time of about 10 seconds at least for spectators in the back).

http://rhythmzone.net/koda/schedule/100929.html I really wanna see Ayu doing a concert in the Tokyo Dome again or even more in a stadium. I see that the accoustic might be worse than in halls, but it has something special (as well as small halls, the contrary). At least for me. Besides I'm all for Ayu proving that she can do it and overcoming her bad stigma with it. I'm just against it if it's indeed bad for her left ear. |

Makes sense though, considering she's back to being bigger than Ayu in terms of CD sales right now anyway. If I fell on my leg and lost my hearing around the time of a Tokyo Dome Tour, I'd probably not want to do one either lol. It seems to me that Ayu is downgrading to an even more intimate setting this past year with the latest tour and CDL. I feel like whatever setting she chooses is based on what interest she has or what kind of scale she wants to perform her concerts on. I'm not going to lie though, I loved the Dome's performance of A Song For XX because of the stage movement where the floor brought her forward into the crowd. :) |
@Corvina
Well, Ayu still perform often in stadiums on A-Nation... Even if it's a festival with several acts, it still amazes me that the crowd keep there to watch her... Cuz there are people who goes to A-nation to watch some one act and leave after that... |
