(miss)understood's reported sales total is 877,500 according to Oricon.
But according to RIAJ, it sold over million copies and got Million certification.
So which one is accurate? :irked

Albums are generally certificated according to shipment.. So, 1million shipped, what means that the stores bought +1million copies...

But according to Oricon, people bought 877,500 of those copies from stores. ^^

Remember that Oricon doesn't count every single copy sold in Japan, so, the album actually sold a little more than that

Like BLUE BIRD, it sold 258,566 but Avex reported 322,000.
Did Avex count it personally?

That's the same. avex counts, how many are sold to stores. But oricon sales are how many of those the stores sell to customers.
