but it is my understanding that in japan salaries and what not are never told to anyone, but people tend to figure it out by how much tax one pays in the country.. which I do believe that is public knowledge.. so just find out how much tax she pays and you can figure it out!

All we know is that during her peak, her sales account for almost half (as far as I can remember I think it was 40-50%) of the revenue of Avex, and her sales in 2001 shattered everyone else in a whooping 24 billion yen.

Yeah, it very well may be more, what with her owning stocks in Avex.

She does not see that much money in her bank account. Madonna does not see $700,000,000 (or however much the magazine claims she is worth) in her bank account. They are very wealthy women but their salaries are no where near those cited numbers.

I believe there is a source that tells the amount of tax paid by wealthy celebrities and business owners. I think the year was 2002 and Ayumi allegedly paid the highest tax out of any Japanese woman. My memory is fuzzy though. I'm probably wrong. I don't know where I'm going with this... I've been up for 14 hours studying.. Sorry.

^^Of course that much isn't in their bank accounts...lol most of their assets probably AREN'T liquidated. I'm sure ayu's balance is pretty hefty, but a lot of her fortune is also tied up in Avex.

Yean when ever it says how much someone is worth that does not mean how much they have in bank accounts...
just that.. i guess, if needed, they could obtain that much?
