Does Ayu lipsync parts of UNITE! live?

Skip to 2:53, Ayu moves her hand away from her mouth. UNITE! performances always seem to be "mixed" really weird, I don't think her band is even playing live in that performance.

It wouldn't surprise me. A lot of artists do sing parts of a song live and then lipsync other sections - especially when they're performing on TV.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look good when you sing the first half live, lipsync the second half, then accidentally knock over the mic stand in the last chorus. I think it might have been Tomohisa Yamashita who did that.

A lot of her older TV performances have been enhanced with sort of a half-playback. She still does it nowadays though.

Another example is "POWER of MUSIC". Listen to the performance of "BRILLANTE". Timmy's choir-part is almust full-playback, especially at the end, his thin voice is barely noticeable in the background even though it's actually his very own part of the song while the playback covers up his live singing.

I used very good headphones while watching the concert.

@ExodusUK Unite! is among her most lip-synched songs... I remember watching her MTV Super Dry live and noticing that she w3asn't singing at all during this song... As Channy said, she always lip-synched some stuff trough, but since CDL09-10 it seens like she just openly don't sing nor fake the verses (like Last Angel or Sparkle) and just let the backtrack play with her recorded voice...

@channy it's not like is humanly possible for a single man to do all the singing for a whole choir 100% live...

It's impossible for her to sing both parts at the same time
she has to finish singing "nara hidari te ni" and then her voice over starts with
"kakaete" before she even finishes and then ayu joins again at "arukou"
just like in the song http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Unite/mClDS?src=5

Is not lipsynching ayu is still singing live.

Captain obvious over and out.

I hate how totally bored Ayu looks in tv performances from this time, I guess in the video I posted, it was at the end of a very long day of them.

She actually used to remind me of Namie in the old days. The way Namie does her "cool" "aloof" thing.

All part of the bad ass Ayu look lol I think it's great~

And...what jackie said. Her backing track is loud as hell...I dont know why she doesn't do that anymore.

Not entirely certain - I saw it on YT before they started removing JE artists PVs and performances. But it's Daite Senorita on Music Station. I'm guessing from 2006 because he sports the same look he had in Kurosagi.

Kana×Shin 8th April 2012 08:53 PM

You can see あゆ lip syncing in the last verse...

RayJason 8th April 2012 09:01 PM

I assume that she lipsynched the last few SURREAL performances too. They're too similar. :/

AyuBlackwind 8th April 2012 09:09 PM

The only performers I can think of who do no lip synching period during concerts are the ones who don't dance around much. :yes

douggn 12th April 2012 05:47 AM

Koda's a good example of doing this, It helps with beathing right while moving around and dancing so you dont run out of breath
