[AKB48] Japan's #1 Group Just Can't Stop Making History in the 5th Thread
 

There once was a group called AKB48. Then Slutshihara (needs)Rinoplasty happened. The end.

Poor Tomomi. Still #8 haha. She's the only one I really know. :P

I'm happy with the results. I like Mayuyu & Sashi, so it's good to see that the senbatsu is a little bit mixed up while the "old" popular members stay relevant.

Only thing I've to complain about is that I haven't found a eng subbed video of 1-16# yet. I missed the live stream and it was somewhat underwhelming to just read the results :no.

Still dont get why Tomomi ranks lower than KojiHaru or Mariko...

Well, at least Yukirin's still top 3. All is good. Too bad about Akicha, barely out of the Senbatsu. :(

^Can't say I felt bad for her myself since I've really tried to like her but I just find her so incredibly boring. Center of UG isn't too bad a deal anyways imo.

My thoughts:
-WHY does Takamina not rank higher? I knew she wasn't going to win but I had hoped all of Acchan's stans would have voted for her since they're bffs, but I guess not. At least she beat Kojiharu this time, and by quite a lot too.

-Sashi ranking that high just baffles me. She's quirky and makes a few funny comments here and there but seriously what is so great about her? Her solo debut sucked and she just doesn't do much for me at all. I DO like her, but I'm just a bit sore that she ranked higher than Takamina and Mariko.

-Good for Mayuyu getting 2nd this year! When Yukirin was announced as 3rd and it kept showing Mayuyu and Yuko, I was somehow thinking Mayuyu might have ended up getting center for some odd reason, but it didn't happen. I wanted Yuko to get it anyways; she completely deserves it.

-Sucks for Tomochin. Whatever, she just needs to focus on her solo career and blow that out of the park like she already has been doing. I want an album ASAP!

-Super yay for Umeda, Chiyuu, and Kitarie! I wasn't expecting any of them to rank quite that high, so I was very happy about that.

-I feel REALLY bad for Matsubara Natsumi. That just sucks for her. I have no clue how crap people like Shawako, Shiichan, and Myao rank, but she doesn't :( ...also really sad for Uchida. Maybe her cocky appeal video rubbed people the wrong way.

-Wanted Yamamoto Sayaka to make it into senbatsu, but at least she ranked a lot higher than last year (and more importantly, ahead of Miyuki, if only by one spot).

-SKE overpopulating UG...not cool. That's all I'll say.

-Kaoru not ranking made me SO happy. I absolutely LOATHE her.

Despite some crappy results for some of the girls, I'm ultimately pretty satisfied this year!

Just gave their single a listen through and found that I kinda like it...

As I wrote previously I was really surprised that Akimoto Sayaka is only 20th! And Jurina, oh well, I knew she's going to be in senbatsu, but I don't like her so much!! no way, she's 9!!!

I'm very happy for Mayuyu! She really made a big progress since last year :)

I see Mariko, Yuko, Takamina graduate very soon. Yuko actually looks so old. I guess once she graduates and focuses on her acting career.

And Tomomi was definitely disappointed with her positionn... poor girl. I can't believe Sasshi overtook her, Mariko and Kojima! that's so unbelievable! what's so good about this girl??! she seriously needs to lose some weight :laugh

Seriously SKE needs to GTF and get their own senbatsu election. Undergirls shouldn't even be on an AKB single anymore....it's basically SKE feat. like 5 guest members from AKB...

I don't like the fact that there are so many SKE girls in the rankings, I was okay with 2 or 3 members but 16 is way too much SKE on an AKB single!!

I'm really glad Yuko got center!!! But like many of you, I think her graduation is near so... I'd love to see Mayuyu take that position next year!!

I agree, why didn't Takamina and Tomochin get better positions?!?!?!!?! I'm not a fan of Sasshi so... how the heck did she rank 4th?!?!

Well, she's neither pretty nor talented, so she had to be very clever. She just basically stuck her face everywhere it doesn't belong and it worked. Her desperate attention seeking tactics attracted a lot of similarly desperate wotas. Basically, she could not appeal to wotas in the traditional way being really ugly and talentless, so she had to make it seem like she could sympathize with them. She wanted to be the "people's idol" they say. i.e. she stole AKB48's overall theme and milked it for her own advancement. Pretty clever if you ask me.

I wasn't always a Sashi-hater but she did a great job of converting me. At first she was funny....but now its like gawd when are they gonna kick this attentionhoe out of the limelight hmmmmmm? :rolleyes Thanks for the 5-minutes of decent comedy but your ass is so out of place it's getting old :shrug.

I'd noticed she was everywhere... and that really annoyed me. But I guess it worked...

Was kinda sad that Takamina failed to get a better rank, I had put all 4 votes to her. Though I'm pleased that Chiyuu didn't drop and Mayuyu got 2nd. Acchan sudden approach was a shock to me, I was crying when I saw her! It was so sweet of her to turn up.

As for Sashi, I was always more of a neutral party, neither dislike nor like her, just find her okay. But I just do not like that's he is ALL OVER THE PLACE!

Part of sashi popularity had to do with the management, they were really pushing her A LOT since jan, even casual fans were bound to remember her. Now in her hometown Oita, they are like using her to draw tourists. I don't like that.... She is just a normal girl, not a tool.
And those awkward fujitv interviews after Mariko's and Jurina's rank is too much... Like everyone is using her.

I was just reading this article earlier, and I start to feel pity for Sashi.

HKT48's Haruka Kodama didn't rank, yeaayyy... I dislike her.

Director Joseph Kahn just posted this on his twitter... he's responsible for a TON of Janet Jackson & Britney Spears videos (he basically brought Britney's career back from the dead), and also directed "I Did It For Love" by BoA.

He is a very VERY expensive director, and no one's really selling aside from AKB48 so i dunno what other jpop artist could afford him (maybe ayu circa 2005).
