Ayu's sudden popularity in Taiwan

Edit:
My bad. She's no longer popular in Taiwan.

jbrat2219 31st August 2012 03:24 PM

Didn't she tour there in 2008? That could have helped boost popularity.

ayuuk 31st August 2012 04:00 PM

^I guess so too! It's probably b/c of Aisa Tour 2008, which ended in November in Taiwan!

TeamAyu2004 31st August 2012 07:13 PM

I thought Secret and Guilty were world tours???

That could explain it?

Also Love Songs was a huge drop...

How did Party Queen and FIVE fair?

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering...

Pieces_of_SEVEN 1st September 2012 07:48 PM

That's odd...hey, not complaining though! Yay!

visionfactory 3rd September 2012 06:01 AM

But I think it's weird that there was an asia tour in 2007 and GUILTY that was released months after was her lowest selling album :no or maybe Taiwanese people simply dislike GUILTY....

FIVE was 1,24% and Party Queen's % will be out at the end of the year ;)

ayuuk 4th September 2012 05:17 AM

^FIVE is even lower than GUILTY... As for Party Queen I am guessing it might be even lower than FIVE.

mizuki-7 4th September 2012 10:24 AM

Where are you see it ? It's very interesting I thought that Secret & A complete all singles were her best selling in Asia according to wikipedia

visionfactory 5th September 2012 05:27 AM

^This one for example, 2009 yearly chart and NEXT LEVEL is #2

No! It seems that Party Queen sold better than FIVE and GUILTY :D

ayuuk 5th September 2012 05:32 AM

^Really? Where did you see that?

Maybe because most of the people I know do not like the album, I got the impression that it has lower sales than FIVE.

TeamAyu2004 5th September 2012 05:56 AM

maybe FIVE got low sales because it was a mini??
I dont know how that country and their music deals with mini albums...
i know in america they are very rare and are usually called EP's.

mizuki-7 5th September 2012 10:30 AM

It's strange because if you look at G music year end chart the numbers are not the same ?

http://www.g-music.com.tw/event/2010...ranking-3.html

TeamAyu2004 5th September 2012 05:04 PM

^ different people always report different numbers...
all this kind of stuff is a crap shot anyways... lol

I couldn't find G-music's yearly rankings after 2008 so I took 5music's data

G-music 2006 - (m)u (4,4% of total yearly sales)
G-music 2006 - Secret (2,1%)
G-music 2008 - GUILTY (1,3%)
5music 2009 - NEXT LEVEL (4,2%)
5music 2010 - R'n'RC (5,0%)
5music 2010 - Love Songs (3,1%)

TeamAyu2004 6th September 2012 09:50 PM

Also, i read another report that gave ayumi's album, Secret at 3.54%...

G-Music and 5-Music are two different charts, so they won't have the same numbers.

Kanzaki 7th September 2012 11:37 AM

I think it's primarely because of the Asia tour. The whole "Asia is one" theme was a great one, and it was (in my opinion) an amazing concert! If that concert and theme couldn't convert people into Ayu-ism, Idk what would!

shizukanaotoko 10th September 2012 07:23 AM

are there no approximate sales numbers for these albums in taiwan? what about china, hong kong, korea?

visionfactory 11th September 2012 04:22 AM

^ GUILTY is the only one that charted in Korea selling just 1,800 copies
