Vocaly strong Namie performances?
I am looing for vocaly amazing performances from Namie, which would mean STRONG vocals. Um I'd say something upbeat..caaaaaan be a ballad but it has to be fierce ballad lol I need a few vids to show to someone to actually make them feel the woman has a VOICE lol

IMO her voice was beautiful in 2002/2004 but since 2008 less and less ! she can't hit high notes like before and she sing too nasally in live compared to studio ! |
Check for her performances in the early 2000s in general, maybe even grab a random concert from that time. She was never a good vocalist, but those were her best times.
|
The performance of Lovin It with m-flo from 2001? was always one of my favorites. Was it a music station special, perhaps? The same one where Ayu and Keiko and BoA and Kuu sang their duets.
The quality if this may be lacking though... |
^aww that was the first live I ever saw. All three performances. Nostalgia.
random post. |
Any performance of 'Shine More' really. She uses more of her chest voice with that song and you can tell that she can totally sing that way, she just doesn't.
^There are better performances of this song but ever since Namie got popular again, Avex has been deleting her YouTube vids like nobody's business. I Will is another good example: |
^ I Will in her So Crazy tour is really good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiwl5rZoiDA around 4 mins into the video.
Queen of Hip-pop in her 2005 tour is really good too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ifCgovCJNc Her Live style 2006's vocals onwards decline maybe except for some performances on her Play tour like Come.... I cant think of really good vocally ones.haha |

too nasal :no |
You can find vocally strong Namie performances in the same place you can find Utada's, Ayu's, Koda's and Mika's... Dreamland!
*runz* |

utada is having the best vocal technique among ayu mika kuu...imo
|
Utada's vocal technique is that of an amateur that has never taken singing lessons, she is destroying her own vocal chords with her technique - and it's quite clear in her recent performances that her vocal chords are severely damaged. She isn't supporting her headvoice properly and generally oversinging/shouting in higher areas of her chestvoice.
(The same goes for Mika, Kuu and pre-2010 Ayu, they all have awful technique - and Namie practically just talks the melodies so...there isn't really any technique) |
I'm really annoyed that everyone always says Utada's vocal technique is so superior to all others, just because she is Utada, when it's simply not true. People may like her voice best, but I would be grateful if people could personal taste keep apart from vocal technique. I love squeaky Ayu from 2001, like many other, but that doesn't mean Ayu had a great vocal technique back then... A lot of people actually would say the girl just can't sing.

Utada's vocal technique is one of the most awful in the entire Pop business, she has a beautiful, beautiful tone(one of my personal favorite voices, actually), but her technique is plain bad and damaging - she can't sing. Her voice is beautiful, but she just can't sing well. |
i love hikki!!
and if people like to listen to vocally and technically strong singer, go listen to opera singer or broadway musical artists instead. Leave pop singers alone... |
Hikki is one of the pop singers with worst technique out there though...there's plenty of pop singers that sing far better. Hell, Britney Spears used to have better technique.
I hate this "oh, it's Pop music, it's OK if they suck at what they do" argument. And I won't listen to other people instead because I love Hikki - I just think she needs to seriously work on her vocals. Her songwriting and composition is absolutely top-notch. |
^how comes that I find her compositions sooooo boring when everyone else finds them so good? lol And her arrangements... boring boring boring!!! xD
