Have your parents ever liked any Japanese songs?
 

LOL My parents don't really care for JPOP/JROCK, they even take jokes most of the time but, well:

My mother loved (and asked me to play several times) these songs:

-SEASONS (Ayumi Hamasaki)
-Voyage (Ayumi Hamasaki)
-ai no uta (Every Little Thing)

As for my father he only seemed to get interested into one song only (he listened to the song on repeat several times, it almost drove me nuts) LOL:

-Nostalgia (Aikawa Nanase)

What about you?

Hmm... my mom would never listen to anything asian related -_-'

As for my dad... I've had him listen to Ayu-mi-x 4 and he seemed to like it, altho he normally calls Ayu "that Chinese girl"... :rolleyes

my mom, dad, my grandama = yes they listen to everything under pop....

my big bro = no.. he prefer local rocks

my big sis =no... she accepts only Islamic and peace songs

the only song my mom liked was a Sailor Venus image song x.x I don't remember the name anymore.. it was slow and had lots of violins lol

and my older sister absolute HATES any kind of Japanese music. She goes around me in a fake high voice singing fake Japanese -.-She only likes American music.. Ben Folds.. Moby...

i know my mom can't stand ayumi since she's playing on the cpu 24/7 lol. my dad is weird, i don't know if he likes anything.

My mom likes Onitsuka Chihiro's SHINE and Sakamoto Maaya's yubiwa. My dad likes a lot of Onitsuka songs.
My sister is not a Jpop fan but she likes a lot of it and we sometimes listen to it when we're driving or something.

My dad hates Ayumi..mainly because of the guitars, Never Ever or Daybreak is probably the ones he hates the most. As for my mom...she just thinks Ayumi "screams" too much.

my dad likes: hikki, TOKIO, Xjapan and sum ancient pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ pop...
my mom liked: rikki, chihiro yonekura, mika nakashima, ELT
our music tastes r completetly different..cos i like "bouncy" pop like ayu, morning mo, maki goto, BoA and stuff....

my sister's and my dad(and he's 52!!!)...lol, my dad is young at heard....heck, he listens to rapO.o..

my parents love the song "sukyaki" by kyu sakamoto. i think cause it has that oldies feel and they love the oldies. but they don't like anything else. my nana actually liked SOME dir en grey :x it was amusing.

my mum likes SEASONS and Dearest, and HYDE's evergreen too ^^

My mom says she likes ayu's "SEASONS" "Voyage" (but she dislikes ayu's "squeaky and high-pitched voice, it just sounds annoying to her) and 4 songs from Every Little Thing's "UNTITLED 4ballads", also Namie's "CAN YOU CELEBRATE?", other than that she says that she's quite impressed by Hikki's "Automatic", guess that's all.

seems like ELT's ballads works well on mums XD

ahahha your mother sounds just like mine! Your mother likes all the 3 songs I listed before hahah I'll try playing "CAN YOU CELEBRATE?" and "Automatic" when my mother's nearby and see what happens LOL:laugh


And well, I think ELT ballads works well with anyone. I have to admit they make pretty good ballads :D

Mum likes Ue wo muite arukou (Sakamoto Ryu), Bluelight Yokohama (Ishida Ayumi), Close to you (Hamasaki Ayumi), most of Utada Hikaru's first album, Depend on you (she hums it!!) and of course the ballads by Matsuda Seiko. She likes Ruriiro no Chikyuu, Sweet Memories, and Kanashimi no Boat a lot.

Dad likes ZONE's rock songs and some Cocco, I think.

Mainly, they don't like enka at all. Obaachan likes enka very much, but doesn't think pops is interesting at all. (Of course, enka is the music of her generation! ^^)
