Spoiler:
Amuro Namie (安室奈美恵) is a Japanese "Hip-Pop" (Hip-Hop / Pop) artist from Okinawa. She debuted in a eurobeat group called the SUPER MONKEYS comprised of her and her classmates from the Okinawa Actors' School in 1992 with the single Koi no Cute Beat / Mister U.S.A.. Amuro became the leader of the group, and found success after their cover of TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinjite~, which peaked at #8. In 1996, Amuro switched to avex trax and debuted with the single Body Feels EXIT, with her first avex album selling over 3.3 million copies. Her biggest single, the ballad CAN YOU CELEBRATE?, was the top single of 1997. After marriage and personal tragedy, Amuro continued to adopt a more R&B/hip-hop based style of music. She has sold over 27,322,155 copies in Japan alone.

Namie's "Let Me Let You Go" PV Preview

Kouyou 25th June 2013 10:07 PM

Holy crap, I had no idea Namie had such an amazing voice. :tired I can totally forgive the Engrish here-- her voice is astonishing!

aloopy 25th June 2013 10:11 PM

The chorus sounds very familiar to me... am I the only one?

Not sure if I like the song, but the PV looks real nice

Mirrorcle Monster 25th June 2013 10:22 PM

LOVE both PV and the song!

BlackSilence 25th June 2013 10:31 PM

OMG i think i am gonna love this, somehow her voice shows up in ballads than it does in upbeat tracks. No wonder i got into her thanks to Tempest. It's like it blooms in all it's beauty!

tho...since when does she play piano o_O ?

Lady~Deviance 25th June 2013 10:56 PM

For the record, I've never had a problem with her use of English in her previous songs ("In the Spotlight", "Hands On Me" and "Heaven") but in this song......

http://www.imgjoe.com/x/agif.gif

She still looks gorgeous though. :P

R_Hikki 25th June 2013 11:11 PM

It's no supplies x 10. Looks like they ordered more supplies.

Nice melody though.

Benikari47 25th June 2013 11:20 PM

Such a sweet song, her engrish can save lives.. "it's never rearryyyy over" :laugh
So far this is my least favorite preview, but it already sounds a lot better than Beautiful. Her voice is so strong here!

The PV looks stunning as well, it's like Get Myself Back <3 Which is one of my favorite songs and PV's by her!

EDIT: They need to upload the Alive preview NOW, they must be saving the best for last but flfdjfdkldf RELEASE IT!

CoriKaru 25th June 2013 11:35 PM

Old "ALIVE" Preview I don't think anyone ever found or posted.

And with that my interest has waned.

#Crestfallen

P.S.-->No regrets in saying I'm really tired of her change in sound and singing in full English. It's not really what I come to her for a'tall.

Imma have to let that "Let Me Let You Go" preview go..

Benikari47 25th June 2013 11:40 PM

^I'm pretty sure we had that posted earliere, it sounds hot as fawk either way!

CoriKaru 25th June 2013 11:44 PM

^Oh okay. Must have missed it.

It isn't bad, I just hope the song is a little more diverse than that..

Delicious n Bold 26th June 2013 12:04 AM

Alive's preview is rearry good, but Let me let you go is meh. Namie plays piano? Or is she faking it? Maybe she finally composed something...........

Maybe I'll have to step up and get the CD/DVD. I haven't even ordered it yet so..

George 26th June 2013 12:10 AM

I really don't like the direction she's going with her music. I do understand that change is important and I'm glad she seems to be enjoying herself. I just can't get into these new songs. I never really had any major issues with the use of English in her songs but to be perfectly honest I'm starting to rather dislike it. I can deal with a couple of verses here and there or even a whole song in English... but that is obviously not the case. I think I wouldn't be as disappointed if the songs weren't unimaginative or generic. As a fan I feel such guilt feeling this way.

emi♡ 26th June 2013 12:11 AM

I am such a piano ballad person.

Her english is...It's just that, you know, when you have the pure piano and vocal combo, it's like they both have to be really perfect, because it's the only thing to concentrate on.

I like her vocals, but I think it would have been 10x prettier in Japanese. Just my ears though.

I don't mind her direction, cause I actually like the songs. Thing is, I really only listened to Namie for the whole, live and dancing thing, and I never thought her music was all that imaginative. With the exception of Past < Future, which I think had a more diverse sound....but then, I barely liked any of the songs lol

harufi 26th June 2013 12:19 AM

As soon as I heard "rearry" I couldn't pay attention to the rest of the song uhh D:

TeamAyu2004 26th June 2013 12:23 AM

Both previews are nice... Someone needs to tell her about her Rs...
