FIVE and songs length
 

I don't know if you guys have noticed it before, but I had once realised that progress, the opening song for FIVE, lasts five minutes and five seconds, and I found it pretty amazing then.

But now this came back to my mind and I though "What if the whole EP lasts like 50 minutes or something?". I almost gave the idea up cause there are five songs, there was no way the EP could be so long :laugh But I still checked it, and the five main tracks, excluding bonus and hidden tracks, last exactly twenty five minutes, which is five times five.

Bonus note, Virgin Road, from her 50th single L, lasts five minutes and fifty seconds.

For me this is no coincidence, but then imagining ayu planning how long the songs would be is kinda weird as well :laugh What do you guys think?

Woah.. Never noticed it before. I mean, okay.. Five tracks and FIVE is the title, but the length too? XD
Knowing ayu, I'd say why not? though.
Maybe everything has been done on purpose, actually. :P

I want it to be true even just because I still don't get the meaning of FIVE as a title. Like, 5 songs? Really, Ayu?

The lettering of FIVE can be read as HOPE, and it was released five months after the disaster.

I heard that when it came out, but I still felt like there should be something more about FIVE, because apart from progress, the other songs are related to Ayu's personal life. So I thought she meant something with that number, other than the secret word HOPE hidden in it, but probably not.

I also have the theory (but this is me) that FIVE is Ayu announcing a turning point on her career, where she will be less who people expect her to be and more who she is... Like this EP was a open letter (To her fandom? To her popstar-self? To her past? To all? Don't know) telling through the songs how the problems and worries reunited Ayu with her public and how it denveloped once both started growing apart until she notices she can't keep going through the path of "us" and needed to go through the path of "I". Interesting enough this was the begining of her most "scandalous" interviews, her less comercial studio albums and videos and where she simply seemed to stop caring about what people would say about her personal life. The FIVE could be the 5th part of her career (ASFXX-ABEST / IA-Secret / ABEST2-AC / NL-LS / FIVE-onwards). But again, this is my personal conspiracy theory. :P

Considering the songs in other deals with different parts of relationships, it could be also about her marriage.

wow so there can be many meanings behind it? Interesting but honestly, it's my least favourite out of all the recent albums.

That actually makes sense! It could just be like that. Even if I'm a little confused about the way you divided Ayu career parts...
And about the her new scandalous ways, it has been obvious since Party Queen and I love it. When she said she was looking foward to make more scandals in the new year, I was laughing so hard. Go and be a diva, bb!
