Just curious

tsumekaze_ 28th January 2014 05:21 PM

I think she does XD

Sandy 28th January 2014 09:12 PM

She does, a lot :D If they're all real or not, I have no idea ... :/

GREENsora 28th January 2014 10:33 PM

Seems like it, they look pretty real.

280301 28th January 2014 11:03 PM

It's pretty disappointing if true. :(

anna_ayu 28th January 2014 11:20 PM

Would be very sad if true...

visionfactory 29th January 2014 12:05 AM

Ok thanks for your answers... I think it's something about Japan's culture that they like fur coats they even have a "Fur of the year" award ceremony like "The best jeanist" award

emi♡ 29th January 2014 02:06 AM

Yes she does. Pretty sure none of those are fake, but what do I know?

Asia in general has different views on the subject of fur. I think it's also important to remind people that, higher quality fur like Ayu wears is not likely to come from the same animal-hating places that PETA wants you to believe all fur comes from.

So before everyone gets sad, remember that we don't know the whole story.

kimmeh 29th January 2014 10:53 AM

Theres a very different view on fur in Japan that the west. I remember during the winter, the girls had coats which had fur on the weirdest and most useless places (on the shoulder, where it didnt warm up anything, or around the wrist area on jacket with wide sleeves. Really?)

Other than that, yes, that is real fur. You can see it on the way it shines. Looks a lot like rabbit-fur.

I mean if you have the money to buy the real thing, why buy it fake? It sounds shallow to my ears, but oh well...

^YES!! This is very important to remember, nee? I wouldn't want anyone to throw some blood at Ayu-chan or call her a "monster" or "animal hater". I know she loves animal for sure, it's just a different culture. I don't necessary agree with it, but with me, even animal patterns (zebrastripes etc.) give me the heebie-jeebies :no I still love Duty, hah!! :D

i have 0 doubts she wears real fur, i'll never understand that tho. good or bad places they all do the same stuff to get what they need.*shrugs* but that's just me. for some reason i am pretty sure that high quality faux fur would do the same job as well.
These dayse fur is rarelly taken as something practical rather than something pretty and sign of being ritch. *shrugs*

Corvina 2nd February 2014 11:40 AM

I agree. You don't need it.
It's just a status symbol.

marzie 2nd February 2014 04:13 PM

you don't need a lot of things but it doesn't stop people from byuing them lol

stepYOU1234 2nd February 2014 09:22 PM

From what I posted in the lifestyle book thread now we know what brands her coats are...
Quote:

French Connection is unlikely to be real fur because of the price point but Fendi still is. Karl Lagerfeld is still in charge of Fendi and although one of his Chanel collections was done completely in fake fur, the customer base does still demand it so they will keep using it unfortunately.
Fendi is also pretty well known for fur and would probably be the brand to go to for fur. And as someone else pointed, the shine and the way the hair is sitting definitely looks real. I imagine Japan has a different view on fur as the temperature in the north is the kind of temperature that people start to view fur as a necessity. It is more frowned upon in countries where it isn't deemed necessary for heat I think.

visionfactory 3rd February 2014 02:03 PM

Oh, I'm glad there is still a possibility she uses fake fur

stepYOU1234 3rd February 2014 05:07 PM

Well the French Connection coat will be fake but the Fendi will be real, so she has at least one fake fur coat... Fendi seemed to be featured quite a bit in the scans of the lifestyle book though

devilayu 9th February 2014 02:59 AM

Just my 2 cents, I am sure she wears real furs. There's always the possibility a percentage of them are faux but if you're 1) rich and 2) wear jackets like that, they are almost always going to be real. Japan in comparison to America (i.e. groups like PETA) does not make as big a deal about wearing animal skins/furs. Every winter, it is very easy to purchase rabbit or fox fur accessories for incredibly reasonable prices. It doesn't make her a bad person but I think the habit of owning furs has been villainised.

ame-na-otoko 9th February 2014 09:30 AM

I like to see fur worn by animals, but if someone wants to wear fur, who am I to stop them? As long as I make the personal choice, which I think is the right one, to not contribute to the fur trade then that's okay with my conscience.

douggn 10th February 2014 12:57 AM

+ fur is desirable in asia. I don't see the problem. Shes a classic classy woman and they need fur :P

あーちゃん 6th March 2014 01:30 AM

Does anyone knows from which brand is that coat from?I would love to buy it, but not a real fur... I just want something similar. :love
