What's the song about? She sings about loving someone in the past, but she's still in a relationship with the person? I'm confused.

Oh god... these lyrics... I really hope that this isn't one of those "signs" coz I'm really rooting for their marriage~

It could also be about a past relationship.

I get the feeling that these could have been written after an argument with her husband, and she started to feel really insecure and anxious, not wanting to repeat the same mistakes of past relationships and being desperately frustrated by herself and the situation.... Who knows though haha. I like 'em.

My first thought reading the lyrics was they may be about her experience with Manny. She was hit really hard by the entire experience, and this song deals a lot with memories and dreams of someone, and wanting to have had someone in a way she couldn't. The lyrics sound as if she's talking about how she's never really moved on from it, even though she may have found new love. Or maybe that she still wants him to be a big part of her life now? So, maybe this could be a throwback to her first marriage?

With every album this woman puts out, she always manages to hit the feels a little too close to home.
