ABOUT NAMIE
Spoiler:
Amuro Namie (安室奈美恵) is a Japanese "Hip-Pop" (Hip-Hop / Pop) artist from Okinawa. She debuted in a eurobeat group called the SUPER MONKEYS comprised of her and her classmates from the Okinawa Actors' School in 1992 with the single Koi no Cute Beat / Mister U.S.A.. Amuro became the leader of the group, and found success after their cover of TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinjite~, which peaked at #8. In 1996, Amuro switched to avex trax and debuted with the single Body Feels EXIT, with her first avex album selling over 3.3 million copies. Her biggest single, the ballad CAN YOU CELEBRATE?, was the top single of 1997. After marriage and personal tragedy, Amuro continued to adopt a more R&B/hip-hop based style of music. She has sold over 27,322,155 copies in Japan alone.

I'm revisiting Namie's old stuff, specifically from between dreaming I was dreaming to I will. Not as good as her previous era because of her flawless second album but there's a lot of gems in this era. Say the word, love 2000, never end (finally like it), himawari etc

I agree!! Back in the day, i kinda overlooked that period of hers and now after her live tour 2014 which was jaw-dropping amazing. I find myself going back to it and loving it to pieces. :luv2

omg I don't know where I was when this came out but I just discovered the 80kidz remix of Damage and I am OBSESSED. Hollaaaaaaaaaa~~~

orangeakira 27th February 2015 12:29 AM

^That's one of my workout songs. When that sick as fuck beat kicks in when she repeats the "have you ever doubted your destiny" part, I just get so pumped and excited. The remix makes the song sound more bad ass.

~StarCatcher~ 27th February 2015 10:00 AM

^Can you tell me in which release the remix is included?

I would like to hear it, too=)

UHPlus 27th February 2015 03:17 PM

Damage (w/80KIDZ Remix) was never released as an audio track. It appeared as the background music for the making of 'Damage' music video:

It was released as a digital single, actually. The full version is 5:18.

^ thank you for the download!

Edit: i finally gave it a listen and its so nostalgic. "and the girl who became a human being." classic. better than oh just a fart.

adantatu2 28th February 2015 03:55 AM

^^Thanks a lot

It ain't got shit on the 80kidz remix of rule. Way more grit. Way more badass.

mi|kshake 5th March 2015 11:29 PM

My copy of Live Style 2014 arrived today! Gonna start watching it soon!

I was also having a look at Namie's other tours. A shame the Concentration 20 Tour isn't still in print - the set list looks amazing! I will have to watch the digest on Youtube.

thinkingoutloud89 6th March 2015 06:45 AM

^isn't the reprint avaiable anymore?

orangeakira 6th March 2015 09:46 AM

I was listening to the 80kidz remix of Damage, and the Shinichi Osawa remix of What a Feeling, and I decided that she needs more remixes. I'm amazed that she doesn't do remixes considering her songs are so dancey like Alive, In the Spotlight, and WILD.

so I made this. http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showth...61#post3121361

she's given us a few of them throughout the years like the ones I listed, but the last time she released a remix on one of her singles was the remix for CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK way back in 2006.

chocopockymaster 6th March 2015 12:24 PM

I agree, she definitely needs more remixes! It's a shame she doesn't do them more often.

Earth_maiden 6th March 2015 12:26 PM

I had no idea there was a PV for DAMAGE. Does anyone have a download link available? :)

orangeakira 6th March 2015 08:00 PM

It's a weird single. She didn't release it physically, and it's not on any album. Similar situation with the Speed Star. I was so amazing when the tracklist for Feel came out and Damage wasn't on there.

mi|kshake 6th March 2015 09:34 PM

I wish Beautiful and Damage were available to buy on iTunes.

NintendoHTF1242 6th March 2015 11:45 PM

I really want Namie to just release a B-side compilation or something. She has so many hidden gems in her singles that people often forget about. Especially the SPEED STAR, Drive, and exist for you.
