How would you improve/freshen up live performances of Evolution?
 

1. Stop performing it in the middle of SURREAL.
2. Expand on the great piano version from AT07 and combine it with the orchestra version of the song somehow.

Just remove SURREAL from them. evolution is great live and I don't really mind if anything else changes, but it deserves to be sang alone. If she wants to sing both evolution and SURREAL that's fine, just not together as one weird medley anymore...

1. Sing evolution or surreal separately, not both but one for each live.
This. so much, that version was absolutely beautiful.

1. Stop doing SURREAL~evolution~SURREAL
2. Experiment with another type of arrangements like Classical, Torch song styles, Acapella or whatever. I believe new arrangements will refresh the feeling of the song.

Just never sing them again. Problem solved.

Sing it like DOME TOUR 2001!

evolution is flawless when performed on its own like it should be tyvm.

Sing them separately for God's sake!
AT 07 version is pure love as well.

I love evolution and SURREAL. I just can't stand that medley. Both songs are damn fucking great and I don't care how she performs them as long as she does them justice and performs them on their own.

I do love evolution, but to me whenever its the time of the concert whereby audience-participation songs are expected to be up next, I will be like "oh its SURREAL-evolution-SURREAL again". and this part is usually messy and ayu screams, and her vocals usually go haywire.

give it a proper performance, as in AT 2007 and AT2002. I love it when ayu spends effort in evolution with a proper song and dance with awesome costumes.

Stop performing it as much. Never perform it with SURREAL again (I enjoy it, but it's played out). Also, perform the version from AT 2007. It's perfection.

I just don't get the hate for the medley...
I never saw it live and anybody who saw it said it was awesome... this is weird...

Did you guys even notice how she played with this this medley during the last CDL?
This was pretty nice...

But I wouldn't be sad if she get these songs as stand alones again...

What everyone else says: just perform it seperately and same with SURREAL. they're both better on their own than in the medley, the medley leaves out the best parts IMO

Don't perform it in the medley. I actually really enjoyed the medley during A BEST LIVE because there were some nice changes to the way it was performed. Yes to the AT07 version too.

Also, move where it is in the setlist occasionally. I know it is an audience interaction song so it's place is naturally in the last quarter of the setlist now but maybe every couple years mix it in the first half of the setlist maybe and make it more of a performance. Maybe perform it after an upbeat or rock opening song like UNITE! is sometimes. It could be treated like Boys & Girls at AT05 with the water effects and add a new stage element to it. Perform it with the slower beginning from the original track even.

Perform it as a jazz piece - no, heavy metal. Make fire come out on stage.

The medley has become an individual song because of its performance frequency xD I also think that evolution is great on its own, AT07-that's the course.
