Burying the plastic surgery speculation for good
 

The recent V-Day picture that Ayu posted presents an excellent opportunity to once and for all put to rest the idea that she has had surgery done on her face. It's a very natural photo, without much makeup, in natural light, and with a natural expression.

And it just so happens that expression is very much the same as one in one of her idol photos from over 20 years ago.

When her nose or cheeks look "different", it's because she's making a different expression with her face. Not because she's gotten anything done to it. The one and only thing she has had done is her teeth.

I wish she never changed her teeth.

She changed them on like 3 occasions but the 'best' look was the first time she fixed them and not the veneer swap.

i've never had doubts about her face but if i have to be sincere, her breasts are bigger in the last 2 years. is it beacuse of a good bra? XD sorry

She looks the same to me, idk about her breast tho bras are a mistery to me (girls says they can make your breast looks bigger so...) :laugh but her face looks the same, I think sometimes she looks really different but it's for her make-up, I mean, remember some time ago when Uma Thurman appeared on a red carpet and everyone went crazy saying she had surgery and ruined her face but it literally was only make-up? she appeared the next day on a TV show and looked the same as always, the power of make-up it's really something.

I don't think she ever had surgery on her face.

Throughout the years she probably had many skin treatments (laser and such) to keep her skin young.

She might have gotten a little botox here and there (botox has a temporary effect, each shot/session only lasts a few months). Botox can look very natural if done by a top professional.

The only surgery I suspect she had is a breast surgery.

I'm not judging her. It's her life and her body.

It's not that surprising that a millionaire woman looks good at that age. It would be more surprising if it were an ordinary minimum wage woman.

I completely agree. It's amazing what makeup and hair can do for her -- they change her so drastically. I think the Mad World video shows this so well. She looks so different with the short hair, and then when they play make-up, she looks like 2007 Ayu to the last detail.

Also, you can't underestimate her fitness variations over the years. She has been rail thin, "average," and more or less toned over time. This has definitely shown in her face, as well. She is a very short woman, and a fluctuation of even ~5 pounds is going to show on her because she has such a small frame.

I guess we won't ever know for certain if she has or hasn't. But I always seem to go back and forth on the subject. Sometimes I'm like, she must have had surgery. Then other times I think it is just make up. Asians seem to be the masters of make up and can make someone look drastically different.

Her breast size changes so much I doubt she's actually done anything. One season, they're humongous and the next she's relatively 'small'. I think early on before the late 2000s happened, she wasn't wearing the bras she does now and also was extremely skinny compared to say, 2006 onward.

i had suspected a breast surgery but recovery by this operation is long and she has ever had so many time for this. She wear some very good bras XD

I think fans get upset over the cosmetic surgery speculations because many people try to use these rumors as an insult to Ayu because they don't like her and need any reason to bash her. So proving the rumors false is to fight back against the haters. Not so much against the idea of having cosmetic surgery.
Even if Ayu did get things done, it's very subtle anyway. Especially with these two photos.:laugh

I never use double push-up bras because when I do my breasts look as if I had a triple D cup. "Big breasts" in photos say nothing as long as you don't see her going naked.
I think it's quite sad so many people here have nothing against surgery. I have. Definitely.
I would never judge someone who had surgery, never. That's also why I actually don't like to discuss this topic in the first place. But I find it sad that so many people, especially women, feel the need to actually hurt their body to feel pretty and valued from society.

I'm pretty certain that she has done something to her face before she debuted under avex, but her face looked pretty much the same since 1998 though her teeth changed (veneers maybe) a couple of times.

she probably got botox from time to time but I really doubt she got a boob job.
