DAI still plays a huge part in the music section. It's good to see ppl from other groups (or who use to be with a group) helping thier co-workers out to be very successful in the music scene. Well, this "relationship" goes back to Japan being a team-focused nation instead of individualistic like the USA is.

Thanks very much for that info! It's kinda sad that Ayu didn't have as much to do with the writing on this album. :( Ayu did such a great job on I Am, so it's kinda sad she didn't write as much on this one.

hey.. meeh have a question.. goe and look at everywhere nowhere one.. whos POP?

boogieordie 21st December 2002 06:38 PM

thanks for the info!

I think it would have been a lot better had she written more like she did with I am...

Grant, your mistaken. According to the insert booklet, Ayu wrote all the songs by herself. So, she did play a major role in the making of this album. :)

boogieordie 21st December 2002 06:39 PM

Ayu wrote all the lyrics by herself. Look at the music credits, she obviously didn't do all of the music by herself.

I just never realized how much ayu had in the composition of her music. However, she did do quite a bit of composing on this album nonetheless.

fantaisie.sign 21st December 2002 06:48 PM

That's why the songs from RAINBOW sound so differently from those on I am. The ones composed by Ayu have that same "rockish feel" from I am, while the others are drastically different from even the singles she released recently.

boogieordie 21st December 2002 06:50 PM

If you look at I am she composed all except for connected which was composed by Ferry Corsten. Most were done just by CREA., a few were CREA+DAI.

OMG that's why when i listened to this song I would always say: it's not a song from Ayu it's a song from H/\LNA!!!! But I didn't knew it was H/\L who did the arrangements...now everything is explained LOL

Let's not be upset just cause ayu didn't do all of the music!! She was VERYYY busy this year and that explains almost everything!!! Before I am was released Ayu spent a lot of time doing almost nothing so she had a lot of free time but she was very busy before releasing RAINBOW...I still think she did quite a good work!

boogieordie 21st December 2002 07:16 PM

Yeah, that goes along with what Chibi and I were thinking that she was under a lot of pressure because she was obligated to put out another album before the year was up.

I wouldn't mind if I didn't think that the songs were better when Ayu wrote them herself.

Hmm.. I don't like the thing that H/\lna did with the beginning with we wish.. ehhh

anyway, Ayu decided her evolution should be that way. I'm a bit surprised by some of the songs on Rainbow but I think the team that worked on this album did a mesmerizing job. to me , the only thing which is really really important is that Ayu carries on writing her very own lyrics which is essential. I mean, to, it's really important to know that she sings with her deep feelings which is worlds apart from singers who don't write their songs.

HAL -- arranges and composes music
HALNA -- lead singer for HAL

It really does seem that she was under a lot of pressure: the TV show, the mini-movie, the appearances outside of Asia, Tomoya. . . :laugh That's why when I first heard that the album would be released in December I thought it wasn't a true fact. Instead, I expected the album to be released in either the end of February or the end of March. Either way, it's still a good album but with more time to put more detail and meaning into each song then it would have been right up there with I am.

yeeah.....that's right..... Ayumi still wrote all her songs..... including the few lyrics on Everlasting Dream

Biscuitgirl 22nd December 2002 03:15 AM

You know, I thought "We Wish" sounded like HAL stuff. It's interesting to see that they actually did the arrangements. Too bad Ayu couldn't do more composing, but at least she fully composed "Heartplace," arguably the best song on the album.

Ummmm....... this is weird....... how come I can here the free and easy tune in the background all of the sudden? Who did that?
