MTV announced the details for this years Video Music Awards. It will be on August 28th at 8:00 Eastern. P. Diddy is the host, and the performers are Green Day, Kanye West, and Kelly Clarkson.

Green Day, Usher and 50 Cent will win everything, unfortunately. I hope Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani will win on some categories... It bothers me to see almost only R&B/Rap music videos in the "BEST MALE VIDEO" category.. I'm sure 50 Cent is gonna win this one :irked I hate "Candy shop".

I hope Green Day and Mariah win. Everything else is just... wow. No comment. I'm just surprised they didn't decide to nominate more emo. That's a good thing.

The nominees sucks. I hate all artists... I bet this year is gonna be even worst than last year.

*scans list* Wow. I hope the best untalented over-rated artists wins XP... I'm sure this will be completely biased...as always.

Wow, I must be getting old. The only artist I listen to from there I think is the Foo Fighters.

Ew, so much r&b rap and hip-hop.

I think Gwen Stefani will win video fo the year because MTV lovesss No Doubt, so they'll love her solo work too. Kanye West will probably get best male video. Gwen Stefani will get best female video. Best Group video will go to Black Eyed Peas (yuck). Best rap will be thrown to Eminem as usual. Best R&B will be given to Alicia Keys. And I'm too lazy to post the rest of my probably 100% wrong guesses haha

OO i like greenday. And Kanye West has some good songs I'll say.

It's funny how those Breakthrough Video Nominees aren't breakthrough videos.

mariah should win all the awards she was nominated for.

wow..some of those songs suck...like..bad. eh..i've lost respect for VMA's for a while now.

I really hope Green Day would win all their nominations! They're an awesome band!
Also, i'd love to see Gwen Stefani win some awards! She has had a big year!

I just realized something... why is Boulevard of Broken Dreams in best rock video AND best pop video? I wouldn't really think of that song as pop. Were there just not any good pop videos this year?
And not to ruffle any feathers, since I know there are a lot of Coldplay fans everywhere, but the Speed of Sound video wasn't any good. It was really boring. I personally don't see why it's so great (now Kanye and Gwen on the other hand...)
