UTADA's UK releases!

I received an e-mail from Utada-Online today saying how Utada will be releasing her -debut- single 'You make me want to be a man' and not long after her album 'EXODUS' in the United Kingdom. The e-mail reads that the release of the single will be early september and the album late september but on going to a Virgin Megastore in the city centre today to check on this release, Virgin have 'You make me want to be a man CDS' for release on the 29th of August.

This is great news I guess, Utada really is trying to conquer the world.

Interesting note: Both releases will not be on the Universal Island label, they will be released on Mercury Records.

nice to hear, thanks for the info. :D I am curious to see what sales in the UK will be like, hopefully for Utada they will be better there than the states. :syeah

I'm curious if Utada had released her Exodus Album in the U.S. where can I find it b/c every time I go to a store I go straight to the cds before the elec. but I never seem to see her cd I think it's because of how famous she is but I would expect at least one copy of her cd at the stores.

I've found her CD in Walmart hehe

I got the last copy at Sam Goody for $15. :P

Anyway, it'll be nice if the album has some bonus tracks or something. And maybe I'll pick up the single, actually order it from amazon.com or something, since I got Devil Inside already. :)

Im looking forward to it being released over here, pretty excited ^____^ I hope she does better over here than she did in the US >____< but she might do, im so glad she isn't releasing Easy Breezy as her first single over here lol.
I still havn't heard anything off the Exodus album yet, lol. apart from the obvious Easy Breezy, lol. so no doubt i'll buy this album when it's released ^___^

I saw exodus when I visited HMV in London before this summer. Probably US import though.

^ :yes America's stupid with accepting 'other' music people, although we've seen lotsa european[the Beatles :P..]/latin[Shakira? is she still popular here?] musicians roll through with some degree of popularity.....but noooo one from Asia [i mean like...eastern asia..like korea/japan/SE Asia...blahblahblah]...boo!!

Joel 19th August 2005 10:48 PM

^ I feel the same way you do...

It also has to do with the fact that American music is dominated with crappy hip-hop right now. Anything that's not in that genre, doesn't really get a deserving look. If she is promoted right, she's bound to do well in Europe.

Whic I think is sad really... Cuz they dont give n e 1 a chance out of their genre but no offenese to pplz who listens to to it though.

I hope Hikki does well cuz i wanna hear her album whenerv it comes out (not EXODUS but the one after that)

i'll for sure make sure to get my hands on a copy of YMMWTBAM single! i hope it has some good mixes. and that'd be awesome if they included any kind of bonus tracks on the album release in europe. we can hope can't we? :D

...You guys...Utada is STILL catergorized under DANCE. She's catergorized under DANCE in america also, hence Easy Breezy never being premiered on TRL (and that it was during VOTE OR LOSE)

AyuGAME 20th August 2005 04:07 AM

And at Best Buy she's still categorized under "REGGAE." :laugh

PickleCookies 20th August 2005 08:22 PM

I noticed that too, Chibinina. :laugh

Well I bet she'll fare way better in the UK than here. Europe is a lot better at accepting new things than us Yanks...

Brittany 21st August 2005 12:45 AM

Since she didn't do very good in America, I can only hope she'll do better in Europe. I know she will :yes ..

The title of the single, 'You make me want to be a man' , confuses me. Why would she want to be a man? or maybe im just thinking too much XD
glad to hear she's up and at it...was scared for a while since no new news about her occured.
